PS Immortality? Curse? Why those who do not appreciate it always get it? Gief me immortality! I would know what to do with it

@chiv Well I can understand certain drawbacks of being immortal as in "oh noes! this was the 50th love of my life who died in my arms*sobbing*" or something like that but in general I'd say the pros outweigh the cons.

@WaldoJ Not necessarily. Besides, seeing the history of humanity (and in the distant future prolly not only human history) unraveling right before your own eyes and probably shaping it? Exciting and fun.

Well yeah, but that's waiting hundreds of years to see it all unfold. Which can be tedious. Shouldn't have given him 200 years and have him just wake up one morning in the mourge after being shot dead. Work on the aspect of dealing with the fact that everyone thinks you're dead. Starting a new life. Accepting that you can't die. Benefiting for it financially, sexually. I was working on a short story set in the future where a guy finds out he can't die and uses a proxy (sleazy conman friend) to set up deal with people who want to kill someone. Built a whole cliche aspect of romance into it. Never did anything with it. 
All this inmortality things go the same way... Man falls in love... Man loses love. Man finds another love. Wants to spend rest of his life with her. Tries to find a cure to grow old and die with her. Fails. But it's always fascinating seeing how the develop it and put their own spin on it. Of course people always find out... Capture... Abuse... Person escapes... Starts anew whilst still being hunted... New organizations start to capture him... The cycle goes on.

Well.. I've just watched it and it looks like it is ABC's Sherlock\House with some Highlander elements (flashbacks) Of course here his deduction abilities are the result of his centuries long life
And like these two characters he keeps analyzing people (corpses at his job too lol) and he is very direct about it.
PS Every time he dies he  Spoiler: | mysteriously gets resurrected in..water(river etc)! naked. |
And, of course, there is a nice looking homicide detective working cases ..  who needs his help in solving stuff..
At the end of the episode it is revealed that Moriarty , sorry, the main villain is | Spoiler: | also immortal and he wants to "have some fun" |
I hope it doesn't turn into yet another procedural tbh. It was nice seeing Beecher from OZ in the pilot..
PS I want Highlander reboot on HBO!!

the whole trailer backing music etc made the whole thing seem a little girly.
would of been better if it was gritty, hope its not as sappy as it looked.

Saw the pilot. It is another take on the guy with all the answers like Sherlock but this guy when he dies he mysteriously reappears. It is sorta decent but could get pretty boring quickly. Edit: I must say the way he re spawns or whatever bothers me to no end, they could have put some more effort into it.
