First things first: "Final" You mean before the reboot
And yes, I know the movies are terrible.
Filming will begin next movie in South Africa so I guess the plot or some of the setpieces will be RE5 inspired? Although the fourth movie already adapted scenes and monsters from RE5. It should be RE6's turn really. Then again at some point Anderson was saying the final movie will come full circle and take place in the Hive from RE1. Who knows?
Ada Wong (Li Bingbing) was announced to be in but when the movie was delayed the actress apparently quit. Maybe the role will be recast. The actress couldn't speak English anyway and her voice was dubbed by the RE2/4 games' voice actress.
Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) actress implied she is in. She is also a fan of the movies.
Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) actor said, I believe, that he hasn't been called to get back but I'm sure Wesker will be in even if they have to recast.
Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller) actor is unlikely to return because he will be shooting the Legends of Tomorrow TV series. Since Claire will be in I think it would be better to recast rather than not have him at all.
Becky (Aryana Engineer), that little girl that was playing the role of "Newt" in the last movie? I think the actress said she wasn't asked to return. How does that make any sense since she was a big part of the plot of the previous movie? Well, these are the Resident Evil movies that couldn't care less about continuity for yaaa...
The Leon dude.. whatever.. I don't remember if he did anything worthwhile and I think he looked very wrong? But if Ada is in maybe they will bring him back too. And Barry died I think?
Other characters are either dead or just no important (for me) to mention..
Anderson planned the final movie to be a reunion with several characters dying as it's the series conclusion, but when the movie was delayed last year for Jovovich to give birth, this created trouble with who could return.. And maybe there have been rewrites since then.. So who knows?
Oh yeah and the "plot" is:
Quote:
The story picks up after the events of Resident Evil: Retribution, as the Project Alice is forced to race against time before the villainous Red Queen attempts to destroy the final remnants of humanity.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
best thing in all of these shitty movies was the laser grid scene in the first movie, period.
Without a doubt.
Which is the reason they have brought it back in the 3rd and 5th and probably why Anderson at least at some point wanted the 6th to take place again in the Hive, so he can reuse it.

Could be a bunch of bollocks but in mid-2015 someone who claimed to have worked on the films wrote angrily about how the production in 2014 was delayed, script was terrible, they had no preparations done and she wasn't called back to work. She gave these details about the script (my summary of her summary):
Spoiler:
- 2 years after the last movie, yes, another time jump, and another case of oh shit how are they going to get out of this? Oh wait the next movie just skips ahead and doesn't show us shit
- Alice, Jill, Leon, Ada. (It has since been confirmed Claire is back and it looks like Ada might not return so perhaps in the rewrites since 2014 Claire has replaced Ada). No Wesker... for now.
- Everyone else is said to be dead. Chris & Claire Redfield (as I said Claire has been announced as returning), Angie, K-Mart, etc.
- They go to Raccoon City.. in the mansion of the first movie.
- Down in The Hive, they go through the laser room in the Red Queen chamber, they access her and find out they have already visited and destroyed every single Umbrella facility. Every single one but one in South Africa, no one knew about until now. Not even Wesker.
- They go to Africa. There are "evolved" black zombies who are smarter and do canibalistic rituals. I guess this is inspired by the first few cutscenes from RE5.
- They find the Umbrella facility. The security is stage after stage of enemies (the description says it's like REtribution but it reminds me of the final chapter in the RE:UC Wii game) they have to clear. 1st chamber dogs. 2nd chamber Executioners. 3rd chamber lickers and zombies. 4th chamber Umbrella soldiers.
- They are escorted to Red Queen. She says humans are finished etc, Alice says well I'm not human, she uses her superpowers that Wesker gave her back in REtribution and destroys Red Queen and Umbrella forever.
- The usual Wesker cameo. "Thank you Alice for falling into my trap and destroying Red Queen, there's room for only one perfect being to rule!" They fight and they kill Wesker for good.
- Our 4 heroes all survive in a world that is full of zombies and with no cure or hope for better future. At least there's no Umbrella.
- Alice's last speech: "'We fought the Infection. We survived the Apocalypse. We faced Extinction. We wandered in the Afterlife. We got Retribution. These are our Last Days, but we won't go without a fight".
- The end.

Alice (Jovovich)
Claire Redfield (Ali Larter, last seen in RE4)
Dr. Alexander Isaacs (Ian Glen, last seen and killed? in RE3)
Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts, last seen in RE5)
New:
Abigail (Ruby Rose)
Doc (Eoin Macken)
Christian (William Levy)
Michael (Fraser James)
Cobalt (Rola)
No Chris, Jill, Ada, Leon, Becky.. Anderson dropped the ball.
And the synopsis:
Quote:
"Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.
In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion."
Ok..
1) How are you going to pick up immediately after RE5 when the last shot has Jill, Ada and Leon in it and in this movie these characters do not return??? Unless you are going to recast them and you just haven't announced that yet.
2) What do you mean Alice "losing her superhuman abilities"??? They were given back to her 5 minutes before the end of the previous movie! Don't tell me she loses them again at the start of this???!!! Anderson what are you doing?????????????????????

Nice!
Mostly because it will likely make another of these happen:
that was my final chapter already! not gonna touch any resident evil movie after this.
back then a friend payed me the ticket because he wanted to see it so badly and wouldn't want to go alone to the cinema. it was pure horseshit
best thing in all of these shitty movies was the laser grid scene in the first movie, period.
+ Milla! I don't like her character in every movie that followed
Also, I remember some movie before the first RE that did a similar thing to those lasers, Cube or Cubed or something, but it was with razer wire IIRC. Same effect though.

My incredibly talented stunt double, Olivia Jackson, collided with a camera crane while performing a motorcycle stunt and it put her in the hospital with severe, multiple injuries....I wasn’t personally there to witness it, but from the reports I got, it was awful. None of us have experienced anything like this in our careers making action films and hope we never do again, but the production reacted very quickly to ensure she received the best care and also in reaching out to her family and making sure they were informed and looked after during this overwhelmingly difficult time.
Dayum!
Quote:
It doesn’t sound like Jovovich was kidding when she says nobody had seen anything like this; Jackson’s injuries included:
2 weeks in a coma with a bleeding and swollen brain.
Severed main artery in the neck.
Crushed and “degloved” face (google that last term at your own NSFW risk).
Broken ribs.
Shattered Scapula.
Broken Clavicle.
Broken Humerus.
Broken Radius & Ulna.
Amputated thumb.
Torn fingers.
Five nerves torn out from her spinal cord.
Ya, this happened very early during filming. As far as I know her husband hasn't sued or anything so it wasn't that someone made the set unsafe etc. It's bad luck.
In other news Wentworth Miller confirmed he will not be in this because he is busy (shooting Legends of Tomorrow).

Wenthworth was.. okay..ish.. I mean almost all sidekicks are given very little to do and are pretty poor.
But they dropped the ball with this movie. It's the finale and most characters won't be returning. I mean most of them have skipped a movie or two but they were making an appearance later.. But for this almost no one is coming back.
Schedule conflicts (Wentworth as Chris).. Bad blood with Sony (Ada, Jill).. or unknown reasons (Kmart, Leon..)..
To add insult to the injury the previous movie did bring back several characters (Rain, One, Carlos..), only to have them do nothing and they were killed them by the end of it. What a waste.

Someone supposedly read the script and people believe he's telling the truth. It ties up several loose ends from the previous movies so I guess in that sense it's not bad.
Alice is a clone of the original well, Alice, who appears in the movie as old so I'll be calling her "Old Alice".
Old Alice funded Umbrella hoping to develop a way to stay young forever etc. Clones etc are being made.
Angie, the little girl from RE2, is an imperfect clone of Old Alice, in order for her father (who doesn't know he is not her father) to try to develop a virus to save her life all secretly for the benefit of Old Alice. That's how the T virus was created.
Dr. Isaacs, the villain from RE3, is a clone of the real Isaacs, who is Old Alice's son. The original is the one that perfected the cloning tech and he appears in this movie and he is good.
Wesker is the one that started selling the virus in countries, presidents, militaries, etc. as Old Alice was gradually losing control of her company. And that's how the virus incident happened.
Now what happens:
Spoiler:
Wesker has Jill, Leon, Ada, Becky killed. Alice sees it from a distance and gets the fuck out of there. She goes back to the desert of RE3. She goes back to the Umbrella facility there and finds the White Queen. She has finished developing a cure. The only way to deploy it is by using the Raccoon City facility.
The Red Queen was restarted by Old Alice when she saw what crazy Wesker has been doing.
Alice leaves for Raccoon City. She joins Claire and others. In the Raccoon City Umbrella Labs, Old Alice appears. They fight.
Wesker kills Old Alice and fights Alice. He dies. BTW Wesker is not really given any specific motive for his actions like eg Old Alice. I guess he is just crazy and evil.
Alice is wounded. She dies.
Claire releases the "cure"(?) in the atmosphere and all zombies die.
The end.
