Well, after having lurked in this section for some time, trying to help out people and generally finding a very compoassionate commuity, I am going to share my latest story here too... which happened/concluded this night. Heartbrokenness ensued.
I got to know this girl a week ago through a mutual friend, we got along really well, found many commonalities, I just really liked her. Fast forward to this Saturday, I walked home pretty drunk from a birthday party, she texted me that she was hanging out at this one bar. I got over there, talked a bit, bar closed at 5am, we proceeded to the bar I work at, we had some more drinks, started making out on the way home and we got to my place. Did the usual thing, made out more, had sex, slept.
The next morning, around 12, we got up, she stayed for another 3 hours in bed with me, just talked and got along really well.
Now we met up today for some more drinks and at some point I asked her if she was up for some more "official" dates. At which point she basically told me that it was just a one night thing and I was a fun guy but we could stay friends. Hah! This has never really happened to me, but I told her that that was very unlikely and that I had enough friends as it is. We still had drinks for another hour and then I left.
Now I am completely floored. I don't know why this happened, and why she got to me that much. I had a girlfriend for several years, had plenty of girls stay the night... but with all of them I really wanted them to leave the next morning. Not this girl, it was just so nice having her around. This never happened before.
I know I will feel better in a couple of days; I also won't drink myself to sleep or smoke weed, I am in no mood for any of that. But at a point in your life, where you think you have enough experience with all of this... suddenly love comes out of nowhere, then proceeds to smack you in the balls.
tl;dr: met awesome girl, didn't work out, heartbroken

I believe the only way to escape from this is to embrace the 'doesn't matter, had sex' mentality, but it's not easy at all when you have them feelings flying around in your head.
edit: yeah, Sellob-style might not be a bad idea after all. Just don't exaggerate

Haha. Yeah, "fuck you, got mine" is also how I usually see things, as I said, what got me was how out of nowhere these feelings came.
The last time I had that 3 years ago I also tried the sellob approach for 4 days and accomplished... nothing. Different girls helped though, so yesterday, while posting here, I also asked a girl out really bluntly and got a date this evening. Still feel shitty, but at least that gets me out of my head.

Yeah, I guess you guys are right... still, I didn't fall for her because of drunk-her, but because of hungover-nextmorning-her. Which is when I usually am most annoyed by any company.
Anyways, managed to sleep, and things are already looking way better. And letting off steam here surely helped as well.
