Cousin no longer owns his chipped ps2 which means i have to get mine done, its a pal 30003R model ive had it for about a year and abit but have been to lazy to get it done. Now i know a couple of people have bought chips online and fitted them without much hassle i did my psx back in 97 and it wasnt that hard!
I know somone suggested to get it done at a computer fair but im not sure how much to expect to payout, i also recalibrated the laser so it can read blue discs perfect now too.

didn't it read blue discs before tweaking the laser? that's odd. anyways a chip (like the infinity) costs about €60, having it build in depends on what the guy charges for it. i wouldn't do it myself tho.
it did read blue discs but after a while stopped so i was told to recalibrate the laser which i did and it managed to correct the problem.
I never heard of the infinity chip until you mentioned it, i rememeber messiah 2 pro was the chip that everyone wanted back in the day, so now its infinity?

yea the matrix infinity is the new standard afaik... upgradable firmware via cdrom, boots everything without pressing reset, fixes vor macrovision, regio free dvd fix, stealth mode (dunno what that's for tho)...

... they mainly all do the same thing... I went for a MEssiah 2 Pro and fitted it my self and it was easy and it works perfectly
