why do groups recommend you to block the exe in firewall(or just disconnect from the internet entirely)?

like with the just released ace combat where in the nfo they recommend you to do that.

just wondering.

Well the releases aren't meant for the public. The people who they are intended for really wouldn't want their IP add to be known. But then again, the people who the releases are intended for should have a bit of knowledge on what they are doing... So.. I don't know.

I never do this.
My Windows Firewall is turned off. Very Happy

yeah likewise... i was just wondering if it was because digital services like steam or whatever could "catch on" and then ban your account or whatever.

what Newty182 said makes sense though... after all these years i forgot that scene releases were just meant for a specific group of people yet i think it's funny that as soon as a game is cracked you can see it all across the internet in a matter of hours =D.
