Heard all of this shit before with Vista. No doubt it will be the same half arsed attempt to re-capture the PC market with a couple of dodgy 4 year old 360 ports.

What they mean is
They will have an inbuilt store to flog shit ports.
They will flag steam as a virus
And they will require that each computer is in constant touch with redmond, as soon as the connection drops the pc automatically deletes all of your game files.

Nah.. they aren't even allowed to bundle their own browser or antivirus.. No way in hell it would be ok to bundle a marketplace for games..

They did suceed in forcing 360 pad down everyones throat.
...and it wasn't exactly volountary in most cases. They just made sure that sufficient number of games doesent recongnise anything but 360 pad.

True, but I am talking about competing with Steam ( PC DD services) or iTunes (media download) or Kaspersky (AV), etc.. they will not be allowed to bundle their programs and services with copies of Win8..

AFAIK they didn't say anything about PC gaming with 7.
They said it with Vista and they definitely did a couple of things.. but then they decided to abandon everything.

Also PC gaming is becoming considerable easier each generation (think of Steam autodownloading patches and requiring no installation for the games you download) and consoles are becoming more of a hassle (you have to download new firmwares, patches, install the games on PS3.. it's definitely not the "I just put the disc on the drive and play 2 seconds later!" experience anymore..)

If they want to push for PC gaming then they need to put their money where their mouth is. Release every single 360 game for PC *WITHOUT* games for windows live. I'm not sure what its going to take to get them to realize nobody wants their crap-tastic online system shitting up our games.
Seriously though, how can they say this stuff but clearly do the opposite? All the games microsoft champions around the block like halo 3, reach, alan wake, most XBLA games, crackdown, forza, etc... are only on 360. How can they honestly expect us to take anything they say seriously when they won't port these titles over?
Until they actually release some of their high profile games for PC, they are just full of shit, like always.

and force every journalist to use them, even if they didn't want to, or were terrible with it, as you can see in every video preview/hands-on in the last few years

nobody forced me, i was using rumblepad 2 until i found triggers more convenient, i would never use ps3 controller tho, apart from ps3 itself where u actually have no real choice

I'm interested to see what the next Windows will offer.
Win7 was rather "boring". It didn't offer anything new over Vista apart from the new taskbar.

Windows 7 is ace because Vista is ace. Man speakeths the truth. 7 was mainly a PR reboot so that MS could distance itself from Vista and the retardedly bad publicity it had.
