Back in 1995 is a retro-styled survival-horror game with fixed camera angles, tank controls, and the like being made by a small Japanese indie studio that aimed to make a retro styled survival horror game from the SEGA Saturn/PSX era. They announced it a couple years ago, and have only selectively shown small bits of it over the years.
Will definitely cause WTFs to be exclaimed but perhaps it could be good..
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Could be fun but it looks way uglier than the games did back then.
Also why can't anyone make a modern survival horror game? I mean like the old titles but without the stupid camera. All horrors game we get these days are the ridiculous "not a single weapon to be found" or the "Kill everything" like RE5/6
They went back too far men. Should have gone to 2001 when the genre peaked with Silent Hill 2.
Something tells me they don't have the budget for that. I imagine they are a very very small team.

About This Game
A throwback to the survival horror and mystery games of the original PlayStation, Back in 1995 faithfully re-creates everything from this all-but-forgotten era of games.
Be transported to a world both concrete and indistinct, where you must uncover the mystery surrounding the disappearance of your daughter, the catastrophe that shook the city, and why you’ve decided to finally return.
Back in 1995 was created as a labour of love by indie developer Takaaki Ichijo as a means to replicate the unique feeling he had from his first gaming experiences: the PlayStation and the Sega Saturn.
Features:
Get lost in the nostalgic world of retro 3D graphics, including low res models, texture warping, CRT emulation, and fixed CCTV style camera angles.
Relive the mystery game genre with an old-school user interface and tank controls.
Explore a sparse cityscape in the year 1995, littered with clues about the past.
Interact with a cast of damaged characters whose intentions you can never truly know.
Uncover the mystery of yourself, your daughter, and what happened to the city.

Yeah that and the game apparently not being very challenging comes up a lot in the current available reviews, apparently there's a plethora of supply items too and there's not that many enemies so the few you do encounter are easily disposed of.
Yeah it seems it's very short and simple. It also appears it's inspired by games such as the first Alone in the Dark, or more correctly since its developers are Japanese, the Dr. Hauzer 3DO game.
Basically games before Resident Evil officially gave birth to the survival horror genre in 1996 bringing a high level of polish with it.
I want a release

Now this is interesting i really never heard about this game (not surprising considering this is a japanese niche title on a failed system) would really love to play this but it seems unfortunately there is no english translation for it.
Basically the dev team is 3 people, the creator/programmer/writer/director/3D artist..., an artist for 2D (concept art, logo), an additional artist for the rest of 3D. You could say it's mostly 1 person behind it.
He should have it released it at $5 and every time it would be on a sale for $2, people would buy it.

There was no warez (scene or P2P) release so no. It's not just the pirate community, people didn't even buy it.
