Hey there,

So this is a rather weird issue i've been experiencing. Basically i get a buzzing sound into my speakers / headphones whenever i run a 3d heavy app. This is not mechanical in any way, it is just emitted by the speakers and/or headphones whenever i start one of said apps. I can get in most games and software like 3DS Max. I've had it for quite a while now, and it hasn't bothered me enough but i just find it really weird so i was wondering if anyone knows the possible cause for this.

It's worth mentioning that sometimes the buzz changes tonalities depending on the app or it's state. For example if i launch Eve Online i get a slightly lower tone. If I pull up Chrome from the taskbar the tone of the buzz gets slightly lighter. Also, sometimes the buzz may change it's tone while i'm moving the cursor across the screen.

My config:

E6750@3.2Ghz
Asus P5Q3
4GB RAM @ 1600 Mhz
Nvidia GTS 450

If you guys require any additional info let me know.

I had something similar once. I had routed the cables that go to the header for the USB and head/microphone alongside the graphics cards power cables. Whenever the cards started drawing a lot of power the electrical interference would come through my headphones. Also the grounding wasn't very good for the header/USB/headphone port thing. Just moving the cables made a big difference.

i had this issue for a long time, even different hardware configurations over the years. was never able to completely resolve it, tried everything, from moving cables, to grounding the case properly and all that stuff. that's the reason why top of the line asus xonar sound cards are shielded, but i use a crappy onboard audio Crying or Very sad
