I don't see a thread anywhere regarding this, so I figured I'd post about it. I have to say, this game looks pretty fun to me. Something cool after I've had a few too many and just want the lulz. Nothing too serious, just fact paced action. Anyways...

Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/217860/

Special Forces: Team X (STX) is a team centric 3rd Person cover based shooter. The game features a unique map selection system, with the ability to shape the battlefield by selecting individual environmental pieces, resulting in over 100 map variations. STX supports asymmetric game play with 2-4 teams and 5 frenetic game modes.

Features

* Dynamic Map Tile System – The multiplayer maps in STX are customized in real time by players able to vote on selected tiles in the beginning of each round. The game features 9 unique map tiles, creating over 100 multiplayer map combinations.

* Stylized Action – Take part in the fast and brutal action gameplay with bloody executions and headshots.

*Player customization – Customize your Special Forces Operator any way you want! Customize your weapons, change your appearance, and select player skills and taunts. Find your perfect loadout for the way you play.

*Dedicated Server – The PC version of Special Forces: Team X offers dedicated servers with various gametypes running 24/7.

*Heavy Weapons – Heavy Weapons spawns throughout the maps and if you see one available in its weapon box, pick it up, it might just change the tide of battle.

*Team Play Bonus – Stick with your team and be richly awarded by your actions. Players that work together in groups of 2 or more will have an advantage in firefights.

*Authentic Weapons – In Special Forces: Team X equip your Operator with real world weapons. Select through a range of Sig Sauer’s, Kalashnikovs and Colts, or pick up a FAMAS, TAVOR, BW-15 or a Mossberg 500.

*Multiple teams – Go beyond the standard 2 team matches, and experience the controlled chaos with 3 and 4 teams in TDM, HVT and HZ. Sometimes fighting more than one team is better for your rank progression.

*Attack Dogs – Bring a ferocious canine with you to the battle and send the dog on enemies behind cover.

*Gametypes – Special Forces: Team X introduces new gametypes, these are Hot Zone and High Value Target, both that can be played with multiple teams. The game also features the standard gametypes TDM, CP and CTF.

Game is released now on Steam. Still surprised this game is so under the radar. I'll be able to give it a shot tonight and see if it's any good.

Yeah, it's like 20€ on steam so prolly cheaper elsewhere. And still, a fun MP game is always welcome. ^_^

This game is actually a lot of fun. It's very fast paced and brutal. Kinda buggy and the dedicated servers haven't been released. The "special weapons", such as the mini-gun that spawn are crazy powerful. But overall, despite the fact that I have sucked every game so far, this is a really interesting game. Kinda like Ghost Recon meets Gears of War meets Borderlands 2.

Once they patch it up and fix most of the bugs, get the dedicated server files out, etc., this will be a game I can see playing a pretty good bit. The biggest surprise game for me since Mark of the Ninja (not saying it's that level of quality, just that I hadn't heard of it and really like it).

It actually looks pretty decent and fun!
But it's price is a bit too high for me, as i have the feeling that it won't last that long.

This game is really awesome. Now that they fixed the level reset bug, it's worth playing. It reminds me of a mesh up of CS and Gears of War. The special weapons are OP, but damn, this game is fun as hell. Sadly, everyone seems to be focused on shitfest like A:CM whereas the little gems like this game get overlooked.

Oh, and don't go by the Metacritic scores, at least the IGN one. This is about a 7.5 out of 10 in all reality, but it's one of the more fun games I've played in a while, despite the issues and lack of total content. If nothing else, watch for a free weekend/sale and snag it if you like tactical 3rd person shooters (I really don't play these games much, but this game is quite addicting).
