Players fight either on foot as free-running "pilots" or inside agile mech-style walkers called "Titans" to complete team-based objectives on a derelict and war-torn planet as either the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) or the Militia. The game is online multiplayer-only, but injects single-player elements such as plot, character chatter, and non-player characters into its matches. Bit-tech reported the game to have 15 maps, 33 weapons, and splitscreen support for the online multiplayer, though the developer had previously denied the latter. Respawn founder Vince Zampella described the game as bringing "scale, verticality, and story" to first-person shooter multiplayer gaming.
Up to twelve human players choose their pilot types and are dropped on the map, beginning the game. A timer displays the time until a Titan can be deployed, which is reduced by killing other players. Once deployed, Titans are protected by a forcefield for about 30 seconds, which protects the player-pilot as well. Pilots are agile and accumulate momentum while running (similar to Tribes), which lets players run on walls and chain together double jumps. There are multiple types of Titans, each with unique abilities and animations. Pilot and Titan controls are identical except where the pilot's double jump becomes the Titan's dash,as Titans cannot jump, crouch, or cover. The mechs are not slow, but their movement is slower than the nimble pilots. Titan game-balancing abilities include the vortex blocker, which stops and returns enemy ammunition in midair, and electrified smoke, which hurts and repels pilots climbing the Titan's back. Pilot abilities include the Smart Pistol, which shoots around corners. Player-pilots can eject from Titans that take too much damage, and the Titan replacement timer is reset upon the Titan's death. Titans can also act autonomously when put in guard and follow modes, which directs the Titan either to protect their vicinity or to tail their pilot, respectively.Games end with a race to the losing team's evacuation dropship.
Respawn has unveiled three Titan classes: the agile Atlas, the ponderous Ogre, and the nimble Stryder. The Attrition multiplayer mode pits hostage rescuers against defensive kidnappers. The game's campaign multiplayer is separate from the game's "classic mode" multiplayer. It plays as multiplayer with single-player elements, such as scripted sequences and character dialogue. There are separate campaigns for the two teams. The Militia are the civilian military of the Frontier and the resistance against IMC use of colony resources. Their most important members include Titan War veteran and former mutiny leader MacAllan, intel specialist and engineer Bish, and Marauder Corps leader Sarah. The corporate conglomerate IMC specializes in natural resource extraction, and came to the resource-rich Frontier for business. Their major players are Frontier operations commander-in-chief Vice Admiral Graves, intel specialist Blisk, and artificial intelligence companion Spyglass.
Looks good but I cannot justify buying a whole console for just this game... Everything multiplatform will be better on PS4 - and I cannot see any other X1 exclusives being this good for a very long time.
Also, the fact there is NO single player at all is also a bit shitty.

Just wait for E3 and make up your mind. I have a feeling MS is going to throw around money to get the exclusives. Sony will focus on indie games more because they are almost bankrupt.
I doubt it, Sony still has the usual same PS3 developers : Naughty Dog, Quantic Dream, Infamous dev (don't remember the name), Sly Cooper dev....
Not sure they still have Insomniac Games on their side since MS have them develop a game, but anyway the latest entries of Ratchet & Clank have been really shitty IMO.

Only ND makes big selling games. The rest was lucky if they sold 1 million after all that marketing costs. Sony even let go SCE Studios Santa Monica the guys behind God of War.
"On February 25, 2014, the studio was hit by layoffs due to cancellation of a new IP."
I don't. But I'm not surprised : GoW Ascension was so-so and surely not a Santa Monica quality product.
And I agree with you : MS will have big games coming, I have no doubt most people on this very forum, including ones from the PC section, will end up buying XBONE because MS will have their favorite game exclusive to the XBONE....
For now, both PS4 and XBONE have a shitty line-up but that's to be expected. Their first big exclusives are Titanfall (and it's on PC & 360 too..) and Infamous for the PS4....
I think we'll have some great exclusives on both sides , but time will tell...Im slowly buying more and more multiplat games for my PS4. Looking forward to Quantum Break for example.
Titanfall requires day one update for physical copies
Quote:
A physical copy of Titanfall will require you to download an 840MB day one patch before you can start playing, according to players who already have copies of the game.
It is an online only game, so not much of an issue. Also, , Not sure why geamz jurnos think it's worthy of a news story and are making it sound like some downside of the disc copy. I'm pretty sure that patch is there for digital copies, just the distribution model making it less obvious.
Reviews are out. It's fairing pretty well - 88 on meta critic. Not as well as I thought it would though, and I'm not going to buy a console for a 88/100 game
I used the oregon address which had no tax, so only 60$ which is roughly 44€ which is a steal for a new console game + I was able to buy it on the us launch yesterday
If this keeps working I will buy a lot more games digitally
For those too lazy to read, you just have to change your billing address, no VPN or anything required, just change region and address and you can access the us marketplace with all its benefits, while still being able to play everything you bought when you reset your console to your own region...
Only thing is you can't sell it any more. But with games like Titanfall you will play it for many months.
yeah i know but then its even 27€ less. So I just sold my copy of AC4 Black Flag. I got 30€ for it -ebay -paypal and we are down to less than 27€. so I'm basically taking a smaller hit, and can keep the game, and don't have to swap discs what I prefer. Even if I get 40€ from selling a game thats just 13€ I lose, but I can keep the game and don't have to go through the hassle of selling/shipping + I don't have to be scared that the game doesn't arrive in time and I get the game on the us release date. So I think I'll buy all my future xb1 games this way.
