it's a pretty big read, but apparently a non-profit texas medical center for curing cancer sells medication, consumables and services at 400% markup, and pays it's director nearly 2mil a year. Shocked

I don't agree with it but that is because im not american but a lot of them do.

If it was my choice i would setup in that country two system health care private and national.

I completely agree that my country's health-care system is in the shitter. People talk about how, if we have nationalized medicine, we would have to wait to see a doctor and that their would be other people deciding what treatments would be provided for us. I just made an appointment with my doctor about some pressing medical issues (I've already seen him twice about my specific malady) and his receptionist told me that the only appointment that he has open is in four weeks. In my last appointment, we discussed how my problem could possibly be some form of cancer and they want me to wait four more weeks to see my doctor for a follow-up? Of course, don't get me started on health insurance. I just got a letter informing me that my rates are going up, yet again, and in the same envelope there was an explanation of benefits that itemizes each doctor's visit. They denied coverage for my last two visits to my doctor and now I owe my doctor over three hundred dollars (which is 50% more than my monthly premium now). Of course, I'm fighting them on not covering my doctor's visit and I'll probably win, but I shouldn't have to fight them. After all, I'm paying them so that, when I do go to the doctor and/or get injured, I won't have to pay completely out-of-pocket.

Of course, what they fail to realize is, if I were to die because I didn't get the proper health treatment, they would lose a revenue stream. While I might be a drop in the bucket, this mind-set of profit over health, is going to ruin our health-care system further and will eventually bankrupt almost all of the middle class.

Whenever I point out the fallacy in the aforementioned argument, people just usually scoff and say that I don't know what I'm talking about. Then I ask them when they were sick last, and I emphasize the word sick, not just a cold or the flu, I mean really sick, hospital stay sick, MRI sick, REALLY sick.

I'm beginning to really despise my country's leadership (the entire government). I love my country and wouldn't want to live elsewhere, but I'm starting to really want to live somewhere else... Sad

4 weeks for private is terrible if that was national health then fair enough.

this is why i think the two system is better you get national care and they say well we will take 4 weeks then if you have private addon you can be bumped up the line this is how it should be.
