In a story to warm the very cockles of your heart, a deer trapped, and struggling on a frozen lake in Canada has been miraculously rescued by a passing helicopter. The deer was trapped in Antigonish Harbour, Nova Scotia with her fawn and couldn’t move on the slippery ice. There was no way for a conventional rescue to be made on foot as the salt-water ice was particularly hazardous.
It appeared that all might be lost of Bambi and her mom, but help was at hand in the form of experienced helicopter pilot David Farrell. Thinking quickly Mr Farrell, hereby known as “Saver of Deers”, devised a plan to blow the deer across the ice to safety using the downdraft of his helicopter’s rotor blades.
