I've seen the anime like 10 times through because I loved the show so much, but haven't all the Attack on Titan games so far been somewhere between bad and really bad?
I'm not sure whether demand was too high for this game or supply is just short but it was notoriously difficult to obtain a retail copy on launch day, even Simplygames.com had no stock! So I bit the bullet, paid over the odds for the PSN bundle which includes £10 of DLC.
Probably played around 6 hours of it and I have to say I'm not too disappointed with my purchase. It's extremely faithful to the anime which I really enjoyed. I can see why a lot of reviews state how repetitive it gets but there is enough variety so far for me not to agree with that at the moment and the unlockables and crafting upgrades will keep me going for a while.
Visually the game is excellent and I haven't had any major framerate issues either. ODM and combat takes a while to adjust to but once it's mastered it's great fun zooming around and slicing and dicing titans. The titans themselves look as dumb and stupid as I thought they did in the anime except for Eren Titan, he looks great!
The campaign closely follows the anime story so there's a lot of switching between different characters which is cool.
Koei Tecmo's A.O.T Wings of Freedom, the Attack on Titan game that's not allowed to be called Attack on Titan in the west for some reason, is getting a sequel early next year.
