My dad found the best way to quit was to limit himself to 2 per day for one week.. (1 morning, one evening)... then the following week down to 1 per day in the evening.. then the following week 1 every two days in the morning.. then after that, cold turkey. He said he never craved one ever again after doing so :/ it gradually gets your system off the nicotine hook. The $800 therapist he consulted to help him quit told him the method. It really did work, I saw it with my own two eyz

Its all in the mind, addiction....
If you want to stop for the right reasons you can just quit no expensive help or patches and crap you will just stop, just like you would stop anything else you didnt want to do no more.
If you control your own mind and tell it you dont need what its trying to trick you into wanting, you will win the battle.. Its just the weak minded and non driven types that fail and get back smoking again after trying to quit...
You know whats great? I wouldnt mind smoking a ciggarette right now, but guess what? I can say no its ok dont think ill bother.. And thats how it goes - I also believe if you smoke because you like to have a smoke then one should be having a ciggarette evey now and then not because the packet of 20 is infront of them..
Should be something of a treat if u have to smoke (lol) not a need and if your strong minded you will treat anything in life in moderation for the better..

I quit about 5-6 month's ago, i had a cold, and couldn't smoke for 2 day's because i felt like shit, and i thought, well if i can go without for 2 day's, might aswell just go without, so now, like i said about 5-6 month's clean, one of the best thing's i ever did was quit.

I was a terrible smoker, I used to smoke Golden Virginia. I gave up after 16 years of smoking and two failed attempt, I used nasal spay and it bloody worked, two weeks later of using the spray and I never looked back, do get the occasional 1 second urge but it never really leaves you, damned glad to leave the weed behind.
Been clean of smoke now for three years.

A lot of people smoke because they A) are addicted, or B) because it helps pass time.
If you're addicted. Quit gradually. Smoke less. If you do it because you've been doing it and it helps you pass the time like waiting for something or what not, then find a diff hobby. I don't smoke when I work, or when I'm at home. I only smoke when i wait for a bus, or walk to work or drink coffee outside. I still manage to go through a pack a day.
Worst part is when you do quit. Smoking becomes more and more common around you.

It took me nearly 5 years to quit smoking gradually. When I was a smoker I could never picture myself as a non-smoker ... thought I'd miss it too much. Well ... you don't.

Yeah, I managed to stop smoking the first time just like that, without any help. Then like an idiot I got cocky and took a couple of smokes and got addicted to the suckers again. I was clean for 6 months.

So to ressurect an old thread.
I "quit" smoking a little over a month ago. Actually, my nicotine intake is still as high as it was when I was smoking cigarettes but I haven't touched one in over a month.
I just wanted to praise these e-ciggs/clearomizers.
This is truly the most awesome thing ever, I've now dumped a bit of cash into it by tesking different tanks and eliquids but I'm still nowhere near the amount I spent on ciggies.
And my plan is that by the end of the year quit entirely.
Anywho, for anyone trying to quit/cut back/save money then these things are really the way to go. They're cheap(er) and they give you that nicotine dose that you crave.

Well done on quitting. Keep it it up and don't go back to smoking.
I quit about 6 months ago now. I didn't get any cravings for nicotine so I didn't bother vaping or using patches etc... I still sometimes miss smoking.

I tried cutting down but quitting seems like out of the question, my environment right now will lead me straight to jail for murder if I quit.
