Its also what seems the most practical thing to do.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

You're going to have some trouble finding the long side if you made it as a perfect circle

Not a big fan of fruits in pastry, but this looks really nice
Oh, and as moose said: long side is the one facing you, and then you just roll it up, so that you get a long cylinder shaped dough.
But since you already made them, I guess you figured it out xD

Thank you, slowly learning since this thread http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74974
During that year, one of the heat elements in my bread maker gone kaput and I started to use it just to prepare dough for the first rising. Learned how to knead and shape dough, amazing feeling how dough changes under your hands and you feel whatever it needs more flour
I find baking very relaxing, feel like I am in a mini alchemy laboratory with various ingredients transforming into a final product. Try it sometimes, ixi
And it's quite a fitness exercise. You moves, beat and seed stuff, lift weights(pans, tins, cans, etc), you do squats and stretching(reach this, reach that) and finally you do almost all things again when you are cleaning dishes afterwards

It sounds amazing when you put it this way.
When I'll finish to set up this mini apartment (read: two rooms and a half xD) in my folks' farmhouse I'll start gathering all the tools of the trade in order to finally make some decent meals. I promise

Yep, goes for everything that involves flour and similar products. Try making proper meatballs as well (can use flour, starch but breadcrumbs still tastes the best), you know you've got the mixture just right when nothing sticks to your hands anymore, that's when it's ready to be rolled into balls
