I would actually say Wave Race 64 on N64 ... so good =D

I personally like the water in super mario 64. But in reality the best water in any game as of now is farcry. HL2's water looks good reflection wise, but the minute you go underwater, its pretty crappy compared to farcry.

Everquest 2 water for me. It actually reacts, whereas farcrys water is pretty much static, with a splash sprite when something hits it.

Thats why I like the water in super mario 64 so much. The water junk on the save slot selection screen is the best, and the DS its even cooler. Because you can touch the water on the touchpad, and it reacts accordingly.

Farcry and Silent Hunter 3. I wouldnt be surprised if Silent Hunter 3 had better water. For a game about submarines, it trys to be as realistic as possible. Farcry had the addition for the eyecandy on to go with the island. Eh EQ2 water reacts to movements but it doesnt look as good as Farcrys. Farcry even had realism when you went under it.
From the latest vids I saw of Silent Hunter 3, it seems almost real.

i like the source water. it looks so good on aztec when ur running and the water is flying up all around you. Also when you ride the hovercraft type thingy boat it actually feels as though your're on water with it reacting quite nicely to the enviroment. to look at on it's own though is not that nice i would say far cry wins.

Source uses the same water engine as EQ2 wich is btw the same water engine they used in titanic.

EQ2 water looks and acts better than hl2 water you sure there the same engine?

Im going to put one out there for WOW.. Maybe not the best, but certainly impressive. I havent seen EQ2's effects, anyone care to take a screenshot? *will work on one for WOW*

First of all i think it is very hard to judge something like water with static screenshots because it also matters how waves and different weather conditions are handeld.
But judging by screenshots, Silent Hunter 3 looks quite good, the screenshots show different situations, rough sea, calm sea etc, and the waves wich the submarine makes during submerge do look good too.
