Yes! Finally another guy who tries nitrogen for extreme cooling and overclocking. Last time I read about it was the Amd duron project. I think they managed to clock a 600mhz cpu to 1525mhz. That was pretty hard core back in these days. This project is based on a newer motherboard and the superiour fx-55 cpu.

Quote:

Just a side note: I've had the board standing on its side for 24 hours now, and it's still dripping!

Quote:

So after 3708 MHz, I pull her down to about -135°C and increase the vcore up to 1.92v, get into clockgen and slowly increase the speed, up and up.... 3730, 3760 and at 3796 MHz I get a BSOD. So immediately I knew it was all about vcore. I shut down the PC and upped Vcore to about 2.0v. I knew from experience that this would net me about 3830Mhz or so and THUS…THE WORLD RECORD!!! At any spot north of Memesama's 3828MHz.... I was sitting at about -140°C and hit the switch, nothing......

Very good, but unfortunately he trashed his comp in the end.

Very Happy nice speeds! Too bad something (whatever it was) got toasted before they could run a couple of benchmarks...

With money you can be a professional in the field of medicinal science and give your self a prescription of medical marijuana for a made up disease Very Happy

Liquid nitrogen can be very expensive. And you need to be aware of how deadly that shit can be Very Happy like you wouldn’t want to accidentally spill it on your crotch area. So yeah you kind of need to know how to use it. Heck they use liquid nitrogen in gr10 science experiments. Gr11 is dissection and gr12 is some bullshit I never got to learn.

Any who pretty awesome shit Very Happy Wish I had the money and the know-how so I can do these things and have a cool webpage with pictures of my discoveries.

liquid nitrogen is not really expensive. we use it frequently at the university to snap-freeze stuff. And aside from its temperature (around -170C afaik) it's not dangerous at all. But yes, it's definitely too cold for the "crotch area" Laughing

I hear you can get a lot of chemicals on the cheap over in iraq it's like there just giving it away or something... Otherwise find a warehouse or get some dry ice incase you can't get nitro.

u need a lot? well, then it can get expensive Smile

but if u need it only for your nice little private overclocking experiments.....

And where to get it? Depends. Availability in the middle of nowhere might be limited. Wink

Liquid nitrogen temperature is 77K or -196° C and is really cheap, at least compared to Liquid Helium which costs about £500 for a 110 litre dewar

Dip your finger in liquid nitrogen (or spil some) and you'll be able to knock your finger off by hitting it against say the edge of a desk or hard surface. Alternatively you may break it in thousand pieces using a hammer. In both cases you won't feel a thing. Have fun!

PS.: Dry ice evaporates in room temperature in about 4h
