p.s. i know there is a major thread thats over 1 million posts already, thats the purpose of this quick little post, so i dont have to read a million posts to find the answer the fastest.. forgive! Rolling Eyes

Vengeance created the best steam emulator (worked great online for some time),... but it's not easy to get all updates and try mods with it!!

I still and will still use ppatcher, it's the best (dwonload/update/play/multi) but you need an hl1 account... there is a new ppc code for every steam platform update but I can live with it.

But if you can to download it, I think the best it getting the Provision DVD collector edition release so you can burn it. Then take the .gfc files and apply the lastest vengeance emulator or use ppatcher with them.

I wanted a non-steam dependent version.

I have to say that I bought the original.
Best £30 I ever spent.

Even if I didn't get HL2, CS:source would have been worth the money alone.

My bought copy worked best of them all. But of the releases I'll say PROVISION as it included all the extra goodies and worked pretty well.
