The maps still have to work on all platforms, bigger ones probably drop FPS even more for the Xbro's
Otherwise I don't know. They are definitely a lot more like COD than BF2. I find myself, almost on all maps, in a cluster fuck of a firefight in a narrow corridor. I mean, most maps are like that than they are open. Seriously. Who here has been playing MP for more than a few hours and can't relate to that? 20 people trying to fit into a small space, dying over and over as no team can progress through such a narrow area.

battlelog pisses me off aswell its obvious why its browser based because it makes it fucking impossible at all for anyone to be clever and make mods work somehow when all the server side bullshit is seperate from the client entirely...
i would love to nuke EA and activsion off the face of the earth they are the cancer that has ruined gaming.
gicve us back westwood ,trauma studios , bulldog and every other fucking creative company you bought out and then shat on

Cant really use that as a excuse considering how they scaled them in BF2 for player numbers
Eg |
Well I can.. because bigger ones would mean they'd be PC only. It depends what they want to do, it looks and plays great on PC but whether they're willing to put in extra time just so PC players have a better experience, who's ever going to know?
Either way, the maps are small and most are for CQC, I only remember this type of gameplay in maps like Karkand, which was good, because there was still variety with the rest of the maps.

Never played BF2 all that much so my comparison would have to be with BC2. In which case I find the shooting mechanics and netcode( with the exception of crappy server lag) improved, the graphics worse and the maps slightly less corridor'ish. Other than that, the maps have felt very boring so far. Also no real fun being a sniper here( and hate the scopes), but maybe I just need to unlock some more stuff.
Anyway, the graphics are really lessening my interest in the game right now. Been playing it for maybe 3-4 hours today and already I'm sick to death of the blue filter, EXTREME contrast/HDR( everything's either blinding bright or dark as can be) and practically no colors. Then add in way too much dirt, lens flares, shaking and all sorts of shit. It's just too much fucking work trying to see what's happening.

Same. It's improved in every other way, but I wasn't even bored this quick with the likes of BC2/RO2's maps
Can't wait for Wake. If they actually did just remake a bunch of old ones that'd be fine by me. Faster jets wouldn't hurt either

then just stick with bf 1942 or bf2.
why do you complain about a game that doesn't fit your standards.
that's battlefield 3. live with it. compare the battlefield 3 maps with cod or other shootermaps and you will see how good they are. we dont live in the 90's anymore. thats how you play today.

Why do I complain? Because it's a valid complaint. Did you read the first post for what DICE claimed? I bought the game based on info such as that. Try reading it, instead of acting like a butthurt fanboy.

the maps are the largest maps they've ever made. Look at the file sizes, the detail, the content... the foilage... clearly the maps are bigger.
Game may be a pc god game, but it's a console derp fest. It's obvious they made maps that would be fluid on all systems and just increased the player count on the pc. But it's ok... it's dice...
