Valve shopping for Half-Life movie

A Variety report says that Valve is willing to make a Half-Life movie to broaden the franchise's audience.

According to a story in today's Variety, Valve has been actively talking with Hollywood studios about a Half-Life feature movie project. The new movie talks are timed to follow up on all the attention Half-Life 2 received at E3 2003, and Valve's Doug Lombardi is quoted as saying that Valve is looking to for a project that would extend the elements of the game and broaden the franchise's audience. The talks are at an early stage and no details are available. We'll have more on this story as it develops

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.

Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

I'll be willing to bet a shiny dime that it will blow. It will probably take place in Antarctica, have none of the original characters and involve Martians. Not to mention shitty acting.

i think this would be good if you didnt see gordon but a NPC like a marine from opposing force or sumthing.... like "hero" where the main character is the evil 1. i also think it would be better if they didnt go down the "dark" road and left it normal, possibly an animation like final fantasy quality.

I've been looking forward to this project... Though like Sublime said it shouldnt be followed via Gordon and If they can make the Black Mesa Disaster a reality on the screen then it would be succesful after my opinion.
