Recently, using latest Utorrent, i've had issues connecting to new torrents. I add a torrent and the connections to all trackers immediately times out. At some random point later, it will eventually connect. It could be anywhere from 5 minutes to several hours
Forcing a refresh sometimes gets it to connect, but if I refresh 4 torrents all connecting to the same trackers, sometimes only one of them will connect, the other 3 time out.

Connecting to the one private tracker I use though, works perfectly fine.

Utorrent shows a green checkmark for network connectivity. I've tried changing ports with no luck.
Ports are forwarded.
This has been going on for about 3 days -1 week. Not sure exactly how long.

Utorrent 3.3 has a few issues, you could try the 3.3.1 beta.

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewforum.php?id=4

3.x has been pretty problematic so far, 3.3 fixed a few major problems and 3.3.1 fixed several remaining issues.

(Various UTorrent versions also tends to be blacklisted so that might be why some trackers time out.)

I just downloaded Deluge..but the feedback on this software is nothing.. I added one of the torrents..but it just shows nothing..no seeds, no peers, but unlike utorrent it doesn't give me any feedback on what's going on with the tracker.. nothing about time out, or updating or who knows what.
I'll try to the new utorrent.

Seems like the new utorrent is all about pushing ads and sponsors instead of making a working program.

seems new utorrent is a banned client on my private tracker I use..

beta doesn't help..
Every single UDP tracker still times out..

why the fuck there isn't a single HTTP tracker out there..

and DHT doesn't seem to help at all either.
get no peers from that.

Strange, under advanced in the uTorrent setting what is bt.transp_disposition set to?
(Try 21 - http://www.torrent-invites.com/help/70887-utorrent-what-your-bt-transp_disposition.html )

EDIT: UDP tracker support is ticked right?
(Preferences -> BitTorrent and make sure UDP tracker support is checked.)

It was set to 31, I changed it to 21. I found 3 HTTP trackers on a site that are working for these torrents.
but doesn't solve my UDP tracker issue..
it's something that is new, but if it's not working in deluge (well that I can tell) it might be something else..
but I'm not sure what would cause that.

You could try Tixati - http://tixati.com/ as a replacement but you already tried the Deluge client and if it was not working there then maybe the trackers themselves just aren't responding at the moment?

(I believe you can ping them using their address in the torrent info.)

Even after changing to 21, i tried adding another torrent with UDP only trackers, and they all timed out.
The network connections all completely normally.

anywhere I can check open UDP ports online? separate from the utorrent tests?

but I added others, like 10 different UDP trackers, all failed.
strange for 10 to be down, and as I mentioned, sometimes when I hit refresh on say 5 torrents, 2 will connect, but the others won't..even though it's the same trackers.

and pinging a tracker (istole.it) seems to work just fine, I get a response.
So they seem to be up.
But tixati also can't connect..something weird going on..

Under preferences -> connection you could check that the port used is OK (Not blocked or anything.) checking the UPNP and NAT tick-boxes can help (And the firewall exception.)

Under preferences -> bittorrent UDP support should be ticked, some private trackers are pretty strict about DHT and such so all I use here is UDP support and scrape information.
(Protocol encryption is on but it allows legacy connections.)

Under the advanced settings there's just the bt.transp_disposition which when altered to 21 disables UTP bandwidth management (Which has never worked for me so I always keep it disabled.)

Other than that it could be some restriction in the router if you use one of those, the ISP can also interfere but I think it's not too common now.
(Blocking certain actions and the like.)

EDIT: So none of the other two clients worked either, well it can't be the program then.
(Which leaves the firewall and/or router and the internet service provider.)

EDIT: There's no other info (UTorrent tracker tab for example.) on what it could be is there?
(I guess it's just the usual connection timed out message.)

yup usual timed out message. Nothing special.
All the boxes are checked, I can't see it being a router or firewall issue. Neither has been changed, and it's only been going on a few days..maybe the ISP is doing something..but it would help if I could check it somewhere else, say via a website to see if UDP is working.

I tried glasnot years ago..at that time it claimed it was shaping..but I think it was because the test server was really far out of country so it caused issues. Unless I can find one in Korea, it's probably not reliable for me.
I'll give it a shot though.

Get the latest build of uTorrent 3.1.3 (e.g. from oldversions.com), it works like a charm. Later versions can act funny.

I suggest using older version of Utorrent, 2.2.1 for example. Been using this for years its fast as lightning.
doesn't include any bloat either just straight forward torrent downloader.
