Huge memory usage

When i access http://www.nforce.nl in either Firefox or IE the memory useage for the browser goes over 400meg and as soon as i move away from the site it goes back to normal.

Anyone else?

Have you installed any new versions of windows or plugins lately? What are your system specs? Please give me a bit more info Wink

With Firefox i installed the 1.01 version but then i completly uninstalled it and install version 1 again as i thought that was the problem but it was the same with that version.

IE i havent touched that for ages and it had the same problem.

My Spec:
P4 2.53
1 Gig Ram

Crap first the virus now this. I'm also running with 1.0.1 and with only this site I get 87mb. It's not as much as you get but is pretty much. You should know that Firefox has a current well known memory leak that behaves very different on certain pc configurations. But I cannot explain why Internet explorer is also behaving like that. Have you applied all updates for Windows and SP2?

yes everything is upto date, this morning it has dropped to 46 meg in Firefox and 30meg in IE.

I think you maybe should have a look under the hood of your pc for some spyware. Never had this problem yet.

My PC is clean as I scan all the time with Spybot, Adaware and Microsofts Spyware tool.

It was the only time it happened last night and it is ok this morning another user in a newsgroup had exactly the same problem.

The only reason i found it was i was using DVD Shrink at the same time and got windows has run out of memory error.

Then you may try a nightly build and see if it works better. You can find them HERE. Sometimes they are unstable and sometimes not but It's worth a try.
