Electronic Arts has ditched online activation for its multiplayer games.

EA's John Reseburg told VentureBeat that after listening to fan feedback, future EA games would not require online verification.

"Initially launched as an effort to package a full menu of online content and services, many players didn't respond to the format.

What else is there? Online-only? I guess MS/Sony could let the publishers decide for themselves whether they want that enabled for their games (doubt either new console will have it as default for all games).

Just my thoughts. Now I'm convinced that the next generations of consoles will have some anti-second-hand system.
Maybe every game will come with an QR formatted serial key that you hold in your Kinect/PSEye to bind to your account Laughing

No future EA games would have it included. Also an Online Pass would no longer be needed to play games from EA that have an online element.
