As the NFS Movie will about the "underground" racing szene will be released 2014 its likely to see, that underground 3 (or something like this) will come 2014 too...

it's Watch dogs and Batman origins and the like that matters to me.

No thats wrong. That was a private statement of one of the employees in criterion. He took it back after some media did write it like criterion wouldnt make racing games at all anymore.
Criterion is not only developing racing games.... there are some other projects under criterion and Alex Ward (the employee) is working for the other projects now...

Criterion overlook the develepment of NFS 2013. They did not devevelop it themself.
NFS 2013 is beeing made from NFS Ghost (Ex- Gotheburg) a new studio under EA with employees from criterion, old black box and many new people).
Criterion is going to make NFS 2014.

FIFA 14's new engine will only be present in the console versions.

Interesting. So now two EA based studios in Sweden? One making BF and the other commited to NFS series.

i dont think nfs is ignite powered! would be strange if the engine which they designed for sports games is capable of doing large environments
