I finally decided to try an online game. so bought EQII.. please dont laugh but ive never bothered playing ANY game online before.. right down to the problem: Ever since installing EQII my internet has slowed down to a crawl.. I dont mean whilst the game is running, I mean all the time!! even after a reboot or cold boot.. As i stated ive never bothered with online games before. so does this game install anything that may cause this? or generally mess up connections in any way? oh btw i have cable 2mbit connection.. thanks for any advice lads

try uninstalling EQ2, or running a few ad-aware + spybot scans just to be sure.

Thanks sublime, i should have mentioned ive done a thorough search for trojans/spyware etc etc and im clean.. also i keep my firewall running during gameplay .. im at a loss as to why this is happening.. could be coincidence i suppose anyone else had this problem?

Installing EQ2 and a constant slow internet seems a bit unrelated... My only guess is you filled up your harddrive and your entire computer is down to a crawl. Do other programs run well? Just your internet is slow?
