When i heard on TV that there was an adapter to hook up keyboard and mouse on console i was freakin trilled since i cant stand a controller.
I bought myself one and the results were quite disapointing. You have 8 slots of preset for games ( F1 to F8 ) but if you want to add your own preset like for example WADS for moving you want the arrows, you can set them but you need a Xbox Memory card to save them, if you dont have a memory card, you'll have to set them everytime you want to play. Your personal presets cannot be save on the Xbox HD.
I test it in Rainbow Six Black Arrow and even with the sensitivity at 10 its still not accurate like on PC. Sometimes you want to move it slowly to aim somewhere but the crosshair doesnt move unless you slide it fast and you end up everywhere exept where you want to aim....it gets even worst if theres lag on the serever
And another big issue with it is if you dont have a wireless headset, you're pretty much screwed cause you can hook up the headset on the adapter but you need to sit in front of the TV since the wire is short.
The sensitivity and the smoothness of the mouse is what im looking for in games but obviously im totally unsatisfied with it.

Thanks for that. I always expected them to be disappointing, due to the poor configuration options within games. That is one thing about consoles, they can make the controls so good as there is one fixed controller. This is one of the reasons why numerous PC games suck, because they have to cater for a much wider scale of hardware.

I've been using Smartjoy Frag a few weeks now and I'm pretty sure it's possible to save settings without a memory card. Configuring new controls may be tricky at first but it shouldn't take long before you get used to it, just have the reference card close by.
The smoothness and the precision of the mouse depends heavily on the game. Certain games like Halo 2 has extreme acceleration for the thumbstick which doesn't convert well for the mouse. But for other games like Unreal Championship 1 and 2 and Timesplitters 3 it works perfectly, just as if it was a PC game.
I think it works well for other types of games too, I don't mind using the keyboard to play Mashed, which is a Micro Machines similar game.
