Good day guys..

So here it is...

Im currently thinking of upgrading my sytem ..meaning that I will be buying a cpu, motherboard and memory...Got everything else ..

My budget should be around 1000$

I mostly use my PC for gaming ...

So ..what parts would fit well together and Im not necessarily looking for overclocking even tho I would prefer an unlock cpu in case of .. And also is high speed memory an overkill or 1600/2133 mghz would be good enough (16 gigs) ?

Should I go for Asus for the mobo since my GTX is an Asus ?

Thanks for your input, I greatly appreciate it .. Im not a complete ignorent on the subject but it's always interesting to have feedback from the more experienced in here...

Thanks again Smile

If it's mostly gaming then you could buy a new motherboard and another GTX 680. Maybe faster speed RAM too. The CPU is fine for games at the moment. I'm not sure what benefits you will get with higher speed RAM though, it might not be worth upgrading the RAM.

"Should I go for Asus for the mobo since my GTX is an Asus ?" That's not a reason to choose an Asus board.

Thank you for your feedback ..Actually the reason that I would change those parts is that Im getting some money of heritage and I wanted to take my existing parts , mobo, cpu and mem to build a system for a family member hense why i would want to change..

Thanks

Ah, that makes sense. Very Happy
I was finding the need for the upgrade a bit weird taking into account your current system specs.
Maybe wait a bit for the next haswell stepping which is due in a couple of months (AFAIK)?

I agree with newt too, unless you want to brag about your PC mark/whatever score or memory OC, splurging money on super duper RAM is useless.

Yeah, I totally agree that a change is not really needed for now ..but like I said, its mostly because I want to please a family member more than anything .. And no, it has nothing to do with bragging ..lol .. And with the next console generation around the corner which I will get a ps4 for it's exclusivities ..Remaining titles will be played on PC offcourse ..I just wanted to make sure that the "next gen" games run properly on my PC and not complain eventually that the PS4 looks better you know ..which I highly doubt even with my current system ..
