Ok, probably not hardware related but when accessing to certain site:
- desktop, connected to the router via eth cable, with 3 different browsers -> DNS lookup failed
- laptop, connected to router via wireless, with 3 different browsers -> works perfectly
I don't have access to the router, sadly.
So, any ideas on what the hell is this? Virus, some sort of malware shit?
The hosts file on the desktop is clean, firewall on or off makes no difference.
The site was working perfectly on both machines a few days ago.

A.
START -> RUN -> cmd CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER
ipconfig -flushdns
Try.
If it doesn't work:
B.
If it doesn't work -> Open Network and Sharing center -> Click on the connection you use -> Properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4 -> Properties -> Use the following DNS server addresses -> 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 -> OK
Re-do step A

I was just trying with openDNS after looking up into this with google, but it only worked after the flush DNS bit.
Tried with the original settings and flushing the DNS but it's still a no-go.
Guess I'll stick with openDNS for now.
What might be the cause of this, any idea?
Thanks, by the way

Hmm, connected to the same router.. I'd say power down the router, pull the plug, wait 20 seconds, replug and then see if they still act differently. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 are the google dns' they are quite fast, didn't use the opendns for a long time
