i really like that more and more devs bring out games for pc as well (which is obvious due to the fact that the consoles are simply lowend pcs), especially if its such games like ace combat which were mostly console exclusive always before
I've never played these games myself, but I'm really curious
Generally, regardless of my awkward tastes it's great to see so many Japanese franchises being finally released on PC as well. Senseirace!
So that's what the female variant of the PCGMR avatar looks like eh?
(Rounded facial features, breasts, moose knu..camel toe and a slim waist.)
EDIT: As for this game well I can't say anything, previous experience was with that other game (EDIT: Assault Horizon) that was a bit different and more arcade like I believe.
(Modern helicopters sure can carry a shit-ton of different missiles and ammo for side mounted miniguns...)

It's standard for Ace Combat to have 70+ missiles, laser weapons, etc on a fighter. All of them are full on arcade. The only thing you need to know about the main series is that it is set in a fictional world with some sci-fi tech (Flying Aircraft Carriers, Giant lasers), no dog fighting mechanic from AH, no helicopters or AC-130 sections, and that's it. Everything else is pretty much the same.
Could you use a stick with older games in the series on PC?
This one looks pretty good. But I haven't played a modern Ace Combat game for any decent length of time, only the first two on PSX. I assume it's all very different now.
You haven't played Electrosphere (the third game)? That's the best AC of that generation!

I wont comment on the story, because of taste diversity. I was curious myself because i like light air combat simulation games. So, after playing the last "ACE" on PC, i can get you some facts:
a) It has a nice fluid GFX engine, but the flight is limited to small combat zones.
b) Its arcade as them come.
c) Your plane generates 198 rockets, 98 missiles and 46 bombs from thin air.
d) In a single mission you alone may shoot more planes than the entire israelite air force has.
e) At campaing lenght you alone willl shoot down more planes that prolly exist on all the world airforces combined.
I had some fun with the totally unrealistic fighting and flying, but if the above dont break the immersion for you, then you probably will like it.

And then I heard it. The "But, that's ..." ending that more and more retard narrators with no sense of the English language use in these kinds of videos. This is a cancer to my ears.
I'm far from a native English speaker and I'm probably doing several grammatical errors and typos daily as far as my own posts go but for me personally what really gets on my nerves is the pauses that some speakers tend to get into or well how would you describe it?
Well I know enough for actually reading English at least but writing isn't exactly easy and it's a good thing I don't generally have to speak it, Swedish to English isn't exactly all that fun to listen to and try to understand though some do a pretty good job at it admittedly.
(However I'm not one of those people. <- Also as can be seen from this thing and the ones below I put a bit too much into going all Emote in my posting style, hah.)
Not exactly sure but I mean the whole, hmm, err, umm, ehh and so on from one sentence to the next and then the lip smacking and whetting noises if that's the word for it or constantly chugging a glass of water or similar although to be fair if it's a lengthier showcase or whatever it's understandable if there's the occasional pause or if the speaker needs to pick up from where he or she last left during said pause.
That and for events like E3 having some tech guy so you can actually explain things a bit even if he or she isn't the best speaker when it comes to large groups so there's some nervousness.
Though at least unlike the PR dude they dig up for these shows there's less fake acting and crappy showiness or other terrible stunts and "comedic" events.
(Or some upper suit or the CEO acting like a "gamer" when that happens you're in for it.)
EDIT: And as for the game itself well since I'm primarily just a PC gamer I can't really say anything since what exactly was released on PC for this series before? Assault Horizon far as I'm aware and then that's pretty much it and that particular game is more of a spin-off no?

Yeah Ace Combat is certainly not a realistic air combat simulation nor was it ever meant to be one it's a arcade flight shooter so it's a good idea to keep that in mind while playing it.
To me this always felt like a next gen afterburner series. Great arcadey fun... didn't pay much attention to story, fly and pew pew is how I approached these games.
Indeed, I'm fully aware of the game-y nature of the Ace Air men^^
Back in the day, when I had much more free time I used to spend a ludicrous amount of hours with simulators (Jane's titles, Falcon 4.0, Lock On, IL2 etc. - nowadays, not anymore sadly ), but I've always liked some mindless arcade pewing as well every now and then to unleash the inner Top Gun. I remember Strike Commander, Crimson Skies, even HAWX wasn't *that* bad, but recently there haven't been many similar titles on PC. Hopefully, this one will be able to fill that gap..sort of.

It's pretty common with scripted presentations. Basically you start talking faster than you are reading, and you have to pause to figure out where you are in the script. Despite being pre-recorded in this case, being a shitty YouTube thing they obviously aren't spending time doing multiple takes to improve it. I used to do the odd bit of public speaking back in the day (scientific presentations) and always used to just completely wing it (no notes/script) for this reason. Scripted dialogue tends to be stilted and unnatural when read by your average slob.
