Well, there are three titles in the announcement, but we are really interested in Sacred 3, right?! |
Bloody right we are!

I hope it will be better than the borefest the second one was.

Still like the first one more than the second (i mean where are my favorites; the battlemage, the archer, the vampiress and the dark elf)....

Amazing! I was just thinking about Sacred 1 and 2 yesterday! I never completed either game but they were both fascinating in their own ways.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

The thing that really REALLY pissed me off in Sacred 2 was the whatever you call it, path finding? Anyway, whatever the chuff it is called it was damn annoying not being able to take shortcuts or climb over anything higher than a grasshoppers knee.
Having to travel for miles just to get round a tree or rock etc.
But overall its a great game, but as mentioned a bit boring and samey at times.

What they need to do with 3 is make it smaller, but more focused. That's why I never finished any of the Sacred games. I liked them both pretty much the same, but it was just too much. They're too much like Bethesda's games. Developers need to listen to Swen from Larian.

Nice, let's hope they manage to fix the few problems that the original had, making everything even more entertaining (possibly without any nextgen features, but I'm quite confident that it will be old-school).

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/29/sacred-3-hack-and-slash-co-op-whether-you-like-it-or-not
Forced co-op, whether with human allies or AI characters. I can deal with the PS3 being the lead platform, the shift from clicky-clicky-clicky to bash-bash-bash, Sacred was always an aRPG at heart and it was obvious which control method was intended for Sacred 2 -- so I can deal with that, I have no qualms, but force co-op?? No thanks, count me out
Quote: |
Sacred was always better in co-op, so Sacred 3 leaves it on at all times. Even if you're not connected to three online pals, you'll have a trio of A.I. allies rolling with you as you fight off large groups of bad guys. And no, before you ask, you do not have to be connected to the Internet at all times to play.

The fuck it was.

The hell? It couldn't sound worse..
forced co-op
PlayStation 3 is its lead platform
this is an RPG engineered to appeal to a console audience
combat is more action-oriented
We never asked for this.

I was actually looking forward to the game.. It's gonna be another fucking Dung3on Si3g3. Regardless of how mediocre or acceptably average the game is, it's not gonna be a Sacred game.

And what the fuck is that about?

So it's going to be like "Dungeon Siege" 3? If so, they can fuck themselves. I don't want that. If it's just the default style of the game and it has the great amount of options like 2, it might be ok. I'd like to see it in motion to get an idea of how the game is going to be played, but this seems like it might be yet another raped franchise. Also, isn't this made by some other developer, so it wasn't a good idea to have faith in this from the start?! And before I forget, that first screenshot looks absolutely horrible.

I couldn't get into dungon siege 3 at all. The horrible controls on PC really put me off.

sacred 1 was medium-good at best. Sacred 2 was mediocre. Third one was destined to be garbage.

Some new screenies |
Looks like a Diablo 3-clone to me. I get strong D3-vibes. I guess the developer/publisher thought Blizzard would make another mega-hit with D3 and decided to copy the concept and work on their own D3-game but using a name they already owned.

I haven't liked any of the Sacred games so far, though the first one had real potential. The second was huge and hollow - and their combo system is a complete mess. Their items are dull - and combat is clumsy.
Hmm...
I'll check it out, though.
As for looking like D3? Well, on those screenshots - sure. But then again, it's the same genre. I think D3 looks great (the gameplay is the problem) - so I don't mind.
