Attended the 24 hours of Spa this weekend.

As we were walking outside the circuit we came across these guys.

Listening to stereotypically horrible techno beats and dancing shirtless. The video unfortunately didn't capture the shirtless dancing. It did however capture the dog chained to the roof of a garage and the horrid music.

Cheers

Mmm prolly nitpicking again but... Big Orgus is Hardstyle/Jump
You'll find that one in sets with the likes of Lethal MG, Coone,Ruthless...

I'd rather go with Marco baily, Yves Deruyter, DJ Hell, Dave Clarke, ... for showing techno stuff

I enjoyed my brief time of mixing Hardstyle/jump, it is great fun to put together but the crowd it draws was never my favourite. Loved the Techno/Electro crowd best when I was performing.

I like almost eveything that was released from 1990 to 2006, trance hardtrance techno hard techno hardhouse jump hardtek french techno club house club trance hardcore ( as we say in Belgium under the label "house music" ). Got most of what i like on Vinyl and still play it today and when i go out and its not a bar its always to a place with proper music, reason you saw me make that video at beachland while im not into festivals at all ( wont ever see me at tomorrowland ).
Its sad how in 2006 the "style" music came out. Meaning Jumpstyle and Hardstyle, its not jump , its not hardcore but.... lets put "style" in the name to be able to name it something.
And along with that the hype and fad came, half the people wearing bikkembergs shirts.....
it all went downhill from there, as much as people try to claim there is still good music coming out i cant even find it by searching for it. there is still "dance" music coming out that is made with computers but that doesnt make it any kind of house or techno related music.
Its sad how true house tracks from decade ago get "remixed" as in a black guy talking between the main melody and kids pretend its fresh and new......

But im glad you wrote Yves Deruyter in that list, the best DJ Belgium ever had and by definition of the world. That guy plays so perfectly me and my friends who play and mix for years just stand there with an open mouth at times. And then its depressing to have discuss with some kid online who never knew anything about any kind of music and argues Guetta or Tiesto are best DJs in the world while he only knows them as producers or as people who put in a premixed CD and wave hands at festivals.

on a more positive note , you belgians should watch the following documentarythats in theatres now ( in gent and brussels for example ). its tells the untold story how Belgium invented and made house ( dont try to argue with me that detroit or chicago house had anything incommon besides a beatgenerator ).

Bet we are about the same age paintface when I read your text Razz (31 here). (weren't you from Herenthout? Or was that someone else? I used to live in Geel)

And I agree with most of what you say. My friends usually laughed when I went on my monthly Tiƫsto rant. But by god I can never get past the fact some idiots gave him the title of world best DJ when in all honesty he's more of a producer than a DJ... Mm right I'm ranting again Laughing

Anywho I stopped playing 8 years ago, got tired of the newer tracks, had less time with work, we started buying less vinyl (I only play vinyl, just find it more fun) and frankly I always hated the people around me in clubs/parties. (not so much my fellow Dj friends, talking about the drunken derps)

Aah the good times... Spending hours in Toff Music at Turnhout going through a lot of LP's seeing and talking to some of the better dj's in Belgium. Ah and the fun times in BBC Dancepolis in St. Niklaas (before TMF started recording there).

Girlfriend tells me to just start again because she sees how much I loved doing it. Don't think my Swedish neighbourhood would like it ;D
