Carmack should be in the top 20 at least. Not for what he did recently, hell no, but what he did at the beginning. Saying he wasn't important to gaming is an insult. But these sites usually have a hindsight of 2-4 years tops lol (to match their demographics i guess) and anything beyond "didn't happen".

This completely. Carmack should be way higher. Looking at the list, it's one of the worst I've seen in my life.

well, making a top 100 important people which works in different fields is kinda stupid.
how can you compare and place in a top one which did migration from sprites to full 3d, and one which did a soundtrack ? or a ceo ? i'm suprised that steve balner is not in there (or it is and i skip it ?)
at the best it should have been a list of 100 important people in a random order, not a top.
