Anyone have recommendations on family games that work over lan. I don't think that a Fps would work out. The best I could think of is minecraft. Something cooperative is better than something competitive.

Civ 5
Borderlands 2, I know FPS but it's co-operative instead of competitive
Portal 2
Castle Crashers
Trine 1/2
Space Engineers
Diablo III
Torchlight II
Artemis
Sonic All-star Racing
Gauntlet
...

Are some of the 'newer' ones. Don't know if they all have LAN specific modes, but I bet you can play most of the ISO demo's with some work if you don't own them.

AvP 1 is now available from GOG with MP support, I signed for beta and received the game for free.

The multiplayer is absolutely insane by today's standards - brutally fast and merciless. I had to admit I am too old for it.
