An all-new, immersive adventure game from the award-winning creators of Myst and Riven
Cyan describe the new game as a real-time, first-person adventure in the spirit of their classics Myst and Riven. If you remember, the visuals in both Myst and Riven were outstanding at the time and Cyan want to continue that tradition with great scenery, a rich story, and of course some interesting puzzles to test any hardy adventurer.
The game will follow the players story after being abducted and taken across the universe to a mysterious location, and in the spirit of their previous titles, players will be challenged to explore and answer questions about why they are there.
Powered by Unreal Engine 4 the game will undoubtedly look stunning, and if you want to find out more, head to the Kickstarter page and watch the vide

Hmms, kinda started losing faith in them after Riven, it really just went downhill from there. And I'd prefer if they went back to the pre-rendered stuff they used in the first two games. Riven looks amazing even to this day.

Their games were awesome.. Myst was obviously gold, but Riven was good too, although the complex puzzles really made me lose my temper more than once.
I was only 12-13 back then and I remember that I had to rely on one of those gaming magazines for some of the solutions. The post-Riven games were okay, a bit easier, but perhaps the series was already starting to lose some of its magic. It will be hard to restore it, but it's a great news

250k in a day not a good start?
well, compare to most other kickstarters yes, but they needs 1.1M also, they will reach their goal(I think) ,but not by much,it's going to be more like Massive Chalice/Armikorg
Cyan has announced that its new adventure game, Obduction, has been delayed. The game was originally planned for a July 26th release, however the team decided to delay the game few weeks (until the week of August 22nd) to do a bit more cleaning and polishing.
As Cyan’s Ryan Warzecha claimed:
“The last few weeks have gone very quickly. We’ve been working long days, and seven day weeks. Obduction has been getting better and better. But we still found ourselves implementing the last couple of systems we needed instead of having quality time to focus on squashing more bugs. Last week we still had a chance, if everything worked perfectly. At the end of the week the leads met to discuss our options. We were so close, we could ship. But we came to the unanimous decision that if we shipped it was driven mainly by the deadline — not because we were satisfied. Obduction is a product that we’re very proud of, and we don’t want to let unpolished edges get in the way of an amazing immersive experience.
So with humble hearts, but admittedly a bit of relief, we’re taking another few weeks (until the week of August 22nd) to do a bit more cleaning and polishing. No excuses, we should be better with our estimated completion dates. It’s really hard — please forgive us.”
