Quote:
The game is set in a dark world veering between dreams and nightmares and as the player, you are tasked to recover the truth about yourself and who you are. And it's through this story you'll be visiting new lands, solving puzzles and meeting new characters, each with their own personalities. Also according to the developers the dreamlike atmosphere featured in the game was inspired by the works of a Polish painter, Zdzislaw Beksinski, and a recently deceased Swiss painter, H.R.Giger!

Pretty much, what I didn't like was the noise everytime an Item was picked up. Sounded like someone scratching

Your wish has been fulfilled^^. I just played the full version for 30-40 minutes (there is a one available at counterstrike russia You Suspicious Be ), and puzzles have been straightforward so far, since you can only explore 1-2 rooms at a time and there's never confusion. You don't move the character, you just pick up stuff and use it almost on the fly. It's quite simplistic, but not insulting.

The visuals are genuinely great though, they scream death metal! Smile Laughing

Yeah I picked up the game a couple of days ago, uses Adobe AIR and the resolution of the background art is a bit low-res (1024x768 I think, not too bad though.) but they got pretty close to resembling something by H.R Giger like in say the older game DarkSeed.
(Not very horrific but still pretty disturbing, some darker content in the game as well.)

Some of the transition effects can be a bit weird as well as you move around and the background art seems to get pixelated as you move about the room or when other animations play but that's a very minor complaint.

Have about two hours of progress (The ancient method of trying everything on everything.) and I'm liking it so far, bit stuck at the moment as usual with me and adventure games with a door lock that requires some symbol, tried making a swastika but that didn't work. Razz

Oh and there's limited moral choices, usually boils down to killing or not killing someone, not everyone is as they first appear so it might happen that you regret your decision later but I don't know if it affects anything in particular.
(A rat like creature early on could be released from his cage or you could drop the cage onto some spikes.)

finished it... twice..

i really loved it. took my time with it the first play through... got condemned to an eternity of suffering and pain, so rolled up my sleeves, said 'this shit will not stand', and stormed through it a second time in... shit... under 45 minutes, its really not a long game, and got my beautiful ending...

3 things

1: best ending credits ever. Doesn't matter which one you pick, though my preference is for the saintly ending, you'll be treated to a great song mixed in with your characters ascent or decent, with some beautiful art

2: SHORT game, as i said, but you'd be foolish not to take your time with it. EVERY new scene is like a wonderful treasure you've discovered, and each character you meet adds wonderful flavour to the surreal, haunting world you're exploring... this really is one of the best 'just soak it in and take your time' games ive played... it DOES tell you things, which is great... its not one of those show but keep everything vague kinda deals, but you get so much more if you immerse yourself in the visuals that accompany the story.

3: I WANT MORE... this was gripping.. the art style, the concept, the surreal, horrific nature of it, was a wonderful combination of unsettling, awe inspiring, terrifying and beautiful... a much longer game, exploring a world like this... oh that would be wonderful.

2 minor niggles... 1: the images are low quality... that was a pity, i would LOVE to see an HD release of this with glorious high quality images... and 2: im not a fan of how limited the moral choices are as jbeckman mentioned... you can get a bad end from as little as two wrong calls, some of which could even be argued as NOT to be signs of your inability to be good... id have loved a bit more leeway or a better way of handling your choices

i will definitely play this game again some ways down the road... again, just to immerse myself in the game with the benefit of knowing whats happening.. but also to this time play full-evil just for fun.

very satisfying game... god... i've managed to hit two great games in a row... dare i hope for 3? Very Happy
