Football manager 2014 has over 1,000 improvements over last year’s release, and the studio is calling it the most realistic simulation of football management ever released. The game will launch on Linux alongside Mac and PC, and includes cloud saves so that players can pick up their career from any computer.

Here’s a glance at some of the new features:

An improved 3D Match Engine
A tactical overhaul
More realistic transfers and contracts
More sophisticated board interaction
More complex interaction between staff, players and rival managers
A revamped news system
An enhanced user interface
Evolution for Classic mode
Additional community features
Extensive tech improvements

Publisher Sega confirmed the game will launch on all three formats before Christmas 2013. If you pre-order the game from a participating retailer you will get early beta access to the game two weeks before it launches. Your beta career will also transfer to the full game at launch.

I love playing FM but... It's getting ridiculous with their 'new' features. It's mostly the same every year. (the list, not the mechanics per say )

Ah well, keep improving! I'll be playing anyway xD

Fuck that, Football Manager (used to be Championship Manager) is a must buy every year.

Although if they try and charge 50gbp I will just pirate it, at first anyway.

Every year they "improve the match engine" but its still the same old, 3d engine on top of pseudo 2d engine on top of a random number generator, its about time they scrap that shit and start over

They where hesitant to add even that to the game. I like the sensible soccer sort of 3d engine.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

New features? I will look at that new tactics module and new game mechanics. If it's worth it, I'll get it somewhere cheap.

I vowed to myself I wouldnt bother with FM14 until the final patch next march(ish). Every year they advertise these new improved features but it takes a few patches to get it semi working. I'm enjoying FM13 still so I'm not in a big rush to get the new version at release.

Hopefully Nuuvem gets the pre-order. As far as greed I dunno. I played 600 hours of FM13 and I like the features announced so I can't complain. I'd love to pay what I paid last year though $26 usd

Tactical overhaul: There has been a complete redesign of how tactics are created, selected and implemented with player roles and team strategies becoming even more prominent, definable roles for players for multiple positions, new player roles and instructions and improvements to rival managers' AI so that they'll adapt their tactics more readily over time.

Finally. I'm still sceptical about it, tho.

That's the main reason why I said myself "ixi, it's time to stop" two years ago. After all this time without FM, I feel like I've been in rehab Laughing

And every year SI ignores thousands of customers (including me) by not implementing UI Scale or give a fucking option ingame for custom fonts. So, game is unplayable for those that have their machine in the living room on a big screen. Last year the official respond by SI was to drop the resolution to 1024x768! This ofc makes all fonts and menus extremely blurry.
That's a shame because FM14 will support greek language for the first time. I buy the game every year but this year it's a no buy if the game doesn't have scalable fonts for Full HD. Lazy devs, i'ts simple coding and they refuse to listen to customers. It's not only SI, the same goes for Paradox (you must be an eagle to play EU IV in 1920x1080 or higher) and Creative Assembly.
