So, for the last 5 years I've been using this PSU: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CMPSU-520HX-Professional-Certified-compatible/dp/B000I54FFS I
In a few days I'm gonna switch to the new rig (i5-3470, GTX660 Ti, 8GB RAM - so, nothing fancy) and was wodnering if it's worth buying new PSU or just taking my old one? What would you guys do? Is 5 years PSU still good to go for another 2-3 years or it's safer to buy a new one? Oh, and so far it's been powering C2D#3.3Ghz and Radeon 4890 so I guess it didn't have to work that much Razz

Yeah....It should be enough; but if you are doing a new rig, why not just upgrade the PSU to a nice 750 modular PSU (they are relatively cheap these days) That will leave you with some wiggle room for SLI in the future, if you ever decide to go that route.

750W is way overkill even for SLI these days.
A good 650W is easily sufficient for SLI, propably even a 600W considering how low power consumption todays generations GPUs have.

Considering how heavily I have overclocked my system + custom loop + tons of fans running and other stuff and IBT/FurMark only pulls ~440W from the wall simultaneously, which is like ~400W on the PSU, which would have room easily for another GPU and even that would push it only to like 550-600W.

So unless you overclock hardcore, 600W should be more than enough for SLI.

Then I wouldn't bother changing unless there is an issue with the PSU.

That HD4890+C2D setup proapbly eats more power than your new one Razz
