My daughter got into the car crying today when I picked her up from school. She was ordered from her dinner table to the head masters office. Her crime? She had a coconut bar that wasn't on the approved foodstuffs list for packed lunches. I decide what my daughter eats no one else.
This jobsworth teacher is so going to get it in the neck tommorow.

The difference is I'm the schools education officer. At least I will be from tommorow. I'm gonna make sure that fat bastard pays for this.

A disgrace. If your brother or sister wants to send their child to school with a half pound of pig fat for lunch then it's their decision. Not the fucking schools.

She's seven. She gets nothing but good reports when I go to the parents night. Thats what so pissed me off.

Well as I'm an education officer I'm gonna get the school added to my list. I'll make sure the headmaster does his job properly. He'll be sorry for the day he pissed off me.

Well any slight against my kids I damn sure will take it personally, any parent would. Condoned yes, but approved by the education dept or the PTA then no.

I could understand it if she went into school in anything other than her uniform. Or if they had pulled me to one side and asked me not to put the "offending" item in her lunch box. I'll make sure Emma gets one every day now.

Because it obviously is against that particular schools policy. If they have a certain list of approved foods, then just stick to it, simple as.

On school grounds they can dictate alot more then you would think, short of physical punishment. But being an education officer I would expect you to know that.

No they cannot. My job is in education. They cannot overrule parents wishes on some aspects. They certainly can't when it's not covered in by the education board.

If the PTA condone a policy which allows a school to dictate what children can eat on their grounds then it appears they can overrule a parents wishes.

I don't know if it's offical policy or not though. Did they give you the food back?

She had half eaten it by the time I got her calmed down. The first time ever she's been sent to the head masters office. Over a fucking bar of chocolate.

Sorry I'll explain. Ever tried getting sense out of a child thats crying? When she calmed down she told me the teacher or dinner lady had sent her out of the canteen and she left what was remaining of her packed lunch on the dinner table. Now I want to know where her Powder puff lunch box is. If the school doesn't have it who does? She was even sent out without her coat. They better have that too or there will be hell to pay.

Thats ridiculous, taking her to the head masters office, I didn't read your post well enough because I missed that.

You go to the head masters office for fighting or being repeatedly disruptive in class. I can see why you're pissed.

Worst they should have done is taken it off her, and realistically all that should have happend is they told her not to bring another one.

The way I look at it is they should have approached me and asked me not to put it in her lunch box in future. They have this policy I think because of diabetic children which I can understand. But this shouldn't override other kids freedom.
Especially not when it results in punishment.

yea i dont see how a coconut chocolate bar can effect a childs learning. by disrupting her life like that they've caused more trouble than the chocolate would. Max so what if she's taking it personally? any1 would do the same if they had the power too. also who's to say this hasn't happened to another kid?

No, no, buy a pair of glasses with one of those hidden spycams built in to it, and then go and hit the teacher who fucked with your kid with a baseball bat. Make sure you have his attention first though. Go up to him and go like "Hey, fucktard, over here!" and when he turns to face you, BAM, break his fucking jaw. Then post the video on consumptionjunction.

that is really ridicolous. But what can you do against it?
Your kid is there most of the time, so they have the most time of fucking around and making stupid rules, and you have to obey. You can't just leave and go to another school, thats also bad for a kid(especially when it is 7).

But what i really cant understand is that there is a list of "approved food". You decide what to eat, not the school. You raise your kid the way you want, not the school.
What kinda stupid teacher is that anyway. Rules/laws are more guidelines than strict obligations, djeez, when will people understand that. "yeah, im THE man, i punished someone, i have power you don't".
I heard she has good reports as well. so that should really be no problem then. They know you take good care then.

Was the same in my school, but in high school. They had shitloads of rules.
And i did good for 5 years and a half, i was one of the smartest of the school. I was in the highest level everywhere in school. And for some reason they started punishing me for little things that everyone did.
I was noisy in the lessons religion, but i hade good grades anyway.
"you are abunsing your knowledge and learning skills, you anoy teacher and then pass exam"
I had been at principal 0 times in 5 years and last 6 weeks of my highschool i saw him 4-5 times.
But it never made me pissed, i just told him, "whatever, do what u want, im gone in 6 weeks". and then he started," are you sure? i might keep u here a year longer"
"yeah whatever, i never had grades below 70% in my whole school career, what u gonna do?"
then he went "suspend you for 6 weeks"
Then he started shitting at me that id never pass university first grade because of my behaviour, and guess what, i passed "cum laude" first year.

blablabla. Conclusion: to use some words of a friend of mine
"People that should have power are not interested, people that have power are to dumb to have it "
Remember that, and everytime you get pissed of by some wanker( that teacher) you'll remember that in fact you are right Very Happy

just to say spankie: her daughter is 7. i dont think she would talk to the principle like that.
its indeed stupid
when i was in kindergarden (beeing 4 or something) i was eating a milky way and they took it away from me. i still remember this. if i would know who did it i would go back and stuff milkyways in her ugly face (i only know its a her and she was really mean and said it really agressive like she was gonna explode). i still kept eating milky ways but i hid myself hihihi and they never knew. i did get scarred for life by this and i wont soon forget.

Jenni: tell your daughter to make sure nobody sees it and still give her her snacks

yeah i know shes only 7.
But it was blablablastory because i remember how pissed i was when that happened, and i was 17-18 then. So i can imagine it must be hard for a 7y and feel very "i did nothing wrong", what in fact is.
