Her Story is the new video game from Sam Barlow, creator of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Aisle. A crime fiction game with non-linear storytelling, Her Story revolves around a police database full of live action video footage. It stars Viva Seifert, actress and one half of the band Joe Gideon and the Shark.
How does it work?
Her Story sits you in front of a mothballed desktop computer that’s logged into a police database of video footage. The footage covers seven interviews from 1994 in which a British woman is interviewed about her missing husband. Explore the database by typing search terms, watch the clips where she speaks those words and piece together her story.
Unlike anything you've played before, Her Story is an involving and moving experience. A game that asks you to listen.

OMG OMG! Viva Seifert! I'm a big fan of Joe Gideon and the Shark. Gorgeous band! Here is one of their masterpieces:
I see the haters and trolls are already flooding the discussion page of this one on Steam.
Game is now listed as Coming Soon. I'll grab it as soon as it gets released.
Can't see anything wrong with it. We also don't have the whole picture of it.
Still is better than the crap acting 99% of Hollywood movies have.
I don't care if shit is smelling a tiny bit better than other shit (yes a crude way of saying it).
And the set-up of the game won't make the picture much grander from what you are seeing.
I'm not dismissing the game concept, but I sure as hell think that that is bad acting (Mediocre if I'm having a good day ) and that it will harm a game like this. Pretty sure they could have gotten something better if they put more effort into casting. There is too much focus on her to have someone mediocre in that place.
Anywho, taste differ so maybe it's a case of that.
#listenandbelieve I foresee a new "Gone Home" being held up as the epitome of "what gaming should be!" by certain people in the media.
... though yeah, shitty acting aside, I'm actually really interested in the premise and idea of this. It seems like a great idea and I'm curious how it plays out.
Haha, to nobody's surprise.. Kotaku, RPS and Polyderp are full with gushing praise. Which pretty much confirms that the woman didn't kill her husband, he probably killed himself.. because he abused the woman.. and didn't check his privilege.

he played the game on June 11 ... saw it and its ... a FMV game when you listen for key words , then type them in a search box , to get new hits in this fake video police library... all this to fix a data cluster HDD for police ... and unravel an old case
The main concept is this , they digitalized old Police VHS cases but the database got corrupted .. your job ... fix it
my IMO : 10/10 loved it ... throws me be back to the year 1998 when nearly all games where like this ... Macromedia FMV adventures

While I understand your reasoning, don't let yourself slide into their schemes just at the other side of the spectrum
I am at the other side of the spectrum Pumpy, I'm sorry. They don't get any respect or tolerance from me, not after the last year of hell for being a white male gamer, so no.. my reasoning and my stance stands. Kotaku, Polygon, RPS and their hate-filled bullshit levied towards me and others like me, they get no quarter and they get no "#listenandbelieve"

I've upped it to the usual 'store' for those who wish to try it
No no, I get that. Polyderp and so on are not trustable at all, but you are judging the game, just because those derps like it, you expect the worst from it, yet it has to prove itself. Maybe it's shit and you were right all along, but we can't know it, just because some twats praise it
Oh no, I wasn't saying it was shit at all! I'm thoroughly interested in the premise and thanks to Scara, I can try it out I was making a sarcastic jab towards the content, how it's a woman accused of murder.. and that if RPS/Poly/Kotaku are singing its praises, then it obviously means the woman is innocent and the man is in the wrong
Hmm, just tried it and nope it's not for me.
And yeh... the acting wasn't making it easy on me either. The body language should be top notch for this 'game' and I thought it was severely lacking.
