I've been using KMPlayer for over 3 years now, and i've always considered it to be the best video player for Windows.

After the last few updates the program sucks big time now, it's laggy, full of bugs and banners.

I did some research and found out that its creator, a Korean guy, sold the program to a company a couple of years ago. Ahh that's why.

Anyway, the very same guy has been working on another player which works much better than KMPlayer, this one: PotPlayer http://www.dvbsupport.net/

And yeah it looks amazing so far.

Its a preference thing. But you dont need to install codecs with PotPlayer and I really enjoy all the hotkeys and settings that are in the player. Used KMPlayer for years and then switched to PotPlayer when he started making that

It is nothing more than preference.

I tried it. It's not bad. I like the playlist better than MPC-HC, actually useful for music as well. Also I like that it can remember where I stopped playback and just naturally resumes next time I run that file. I'll try it out for a few more days.

I've used it for years, and it's always working fine for me. No need for any codec installs.

No codecs with Media Player Classic. Unless you're using the ancient version.

Same here, I don't see any reason as why I should switch. ^_^

Definitely better sound in some other players over VLC, though. But if you are picky about sound you probably would already use something else Smile

I never knew there was sound difference in players.. I thought that was controlled by the quality of the movie file. Neutral

I've been using Potplayer since 2010, great program that has everything I need without fiddling too much with the settings. But then I again, I often watch low/medium quality stuff so hypothetically even WMP would be fine for my standards xD

Im using Media Player Classic, occasionally also Bsplayer, since its handy for downloading subtitles. One thing i have noticed, BSplayer doesnt have as good colours than Media Player Classic.

Whats wrong with windows media player? it plays everything and it's pre installed!

It plays subtitles as well. And all those fancy codecs? Never had an issue with it.

All those debates on media players is so 2000!
