So, any way for virtualization of Android so that i can play games such as Ravensword: Shadowlands? Really want to play this game, but it's a no go on both phone and Pad. I know they have implemented support for 360 controller and i guess i can only use that if i play it from my computer.

Of course! AndroVM+VMPlayer or if you want something easier without any fuss, Bluestacks Smile

Bluestacks is good but it has issues with some games and its 3D performance is lower than that of AndroVM -- but it's great for those that don't want to dick about with ANYTHING. You install, download .APK files, double-click, play. Done. AndroVM is Android, in every shape and form, so you have to use it like you would use an Android device. BlueStacks is an Android PLAYER.

Thanks! I'm sure i'll figure it out, but i have to wait a while because of my epic 5 mbit connection this will take some time to download :/

But you recommend Vmware over Virtualbox? I see the tutorial is a Virtualbox tutorial.

I didn't Neutral I said AndroVM and VMPlayer, not VMWare Smile AndroVM is the colloquial name for the customised version of VirtualBox (shortened to Vbox) - AndroVM (ergo, Vbox) runs the Android OS and then VMPlayer ties into that and enables hardware OpenGL.

Nope, it really isn't, in my experience it was a right pain. Try this;

http://androvm.org/blog/ex-buildroid/virtualbox/

Quote:

Shared folders : to share data between the host computer and Android, you have to use a shared folder named ‘mysdcard’. To do this, go to VM configuration -> Shared folders and create a shared folder named ‘mysdcard’ redirected to the location where you want to read/write datas from Android.

Some notes on the usage :

Once started, if you add/modify/remove files in the ‘mysdcard’ directory from the host, you have to ask Android to ‘rescan’ the sdcard so that it sees changes ; to do this, open the application “Dev Tools”->”Media Provider” and click on “Scan SD card”

Did as instructed, but i don't know where to find it with astro file manager.

Edit: found it thanks!

Edit2: Damn, tried ravensword, but the game doesn't start. Installed the .apk file for 1.3 and copied that data file as instructed to "sdcard/android/obb" and the game doesn't even begin to launch. Tried installing angry birds as well just to check, but that game worked perfectly.
