I sure hope he flashed a custom ROM to extend his battery life.....

Not enough advertising in my opinion, it looks really great but unfortunately many of the big sites barely mentioned it, and in this crowded KS market it's easy to get lost :/
They should try again with a more aggressive strategy and better/more appetizing goals for the pledgers

Usually kickstarting the same project that already failed, does even worse then the first attempt. The aura of failure won't go away, gets people to stay away. |
Hehe yeah, that's true sadly. Who knows, perhaps some trusty publisher could pick it up, horror games seems to be quite successful in terms of $ these days (both Amnesia AMFP and Outlast are doing pretty good). There's definitely a positive trend.

Can I have at last one example when it happened?

Yeah, but what the point, it won't make it.
A pity.

If this project would have been from some old known game maker without any gameplay, it would have been instantly funded.

I thought "press attention = more backers", which I realize now, was idiotic because satisfied fans and supporters, who are spreading the word for you, are worth more than 10 articles on Kotaku... I hope I can redeem myself in front of you (backers).
U55 - END OF THE LINE isn't over if Kickstarter fails... As you may have seen, we have awesome numbers on Steam. It would be dumb to call it off now.
Alex, the team and I will see to it that we will give you some quality updates in the final days. If go down, we will go down all guns blazing!
Thank you for your support Revisor and all others out there! |
A little bit of good news, I suppose

Let's hope they run another KS in a few weeks/months. This game looked great and while I'm not usually into "run, hide" style games (such as Amnesia or Outlast) it would be a hell of a shame to see something this fun die off.

Quote: | Hi Folks,
as promised we have some brand new information for you:
Our new Crowdfunding Campaign on FundedByMe is now live!
http://fbm.u55.eu/
It is a loan- based Campaign which is a totally new way of Crowdfunding.
What does that mean? Basically you invest a certain amount of money into our campaign as a loan and get the game for free. Once the investment time is over you get your money back, and on top of that you also get a percentage of the profit!
So it is a Win-Win Situation for the Backers! |

Hmm, could work to get them more money but what if sales are bad and then when they have to pay back the investors and a part of the profit there's no money left over?
Have to wait and see how it goes I guess.
EDIT: Ah the website has the actual figures, plus a minimum deposit of 50 Euro is required.
