|
 |
Some time late last year I had an Aladdin Advance modchip fitted in my Xbox and up until earlier this week, it was great! Then the chip just stopped working and all I could load was the MS Dashboard. I took it to a different place to where I had it chipped originally and they told me a 'pad' had come off the chip and the Xbox had to be rechipped, which I thought was fair enough and to be honest I didn't care so long as I could get a working chipped Xbox.
So I got it home and I press the power button, the light comes up orange and the MS Dashboard loads which I thought was odd since the MSDash should only load when the chip is disabled and the power light should be green! So I turn it off and hold in the power button to enable the modchip. It comes on green and the Evox Dashboard loads. I realize they have some how wired it up wrong since the power light indicator has been reversed. I ring them up and explain but the guy who fitted the chip is unavailable and I am told it's probably because it's a different version of the modchip. Is this likely? I decided the lights lighting up in the wrong colors was just nitpicking and wouldn't be worth me taking it back to be sorted until I came across another issue.
After playing a game, I would press the eject button and the game I was playing would go off and then the Evox screen would appear ready to load another game. That was before I had it rechipped. Now if I press the eject button to play another game, the light flashes orange and red, the MS Dashboard loads and the modchip is obviously disabled. So in order to enabled the chip again, I have to turn the Xbox off and then on again! Which is what I have to do everytime I change a game!
Has anyone ever come across this and is there a way round it before I take it back to be sorted? Sorry for the long winded post but I wanted to be as detailed as I could. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The bios could be making it act different. If it's the chip, it's likely for better features which you'll probably want to learn.
