Since you are not going to OC and use a seperate GFX card, I suppose I have two suggestions:
1. You might want to use a Xeon E3-1230 v3. http://ark.intel.com/de/products/75054/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1230-v3-8M-Cache-3_30-GHz
2. And secondly, you dont need that Z mobo, so unless there are features on that ASUS you absolutely want, I'd suggest a H87. I have no specific suggestion here though, but there are a few even from ASUS to chose from.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

The board is good, just try to get the C2 stepping revision. It corrects some error with USB3 and sleep state.

Personally I'd always take the version without the error, even if its only cosmetic.
And about sleeping desktops. I still prefer sleep to reboot since my desktop is always on and I lke to leave documents and office app open all the time. When I leave or go to sleep, so does the desktop. I only reboot to change the OS.
