Open world futuristic freerun / parkour game inspired by great games like Jet Set Radio and Mirror's Edge

Game Info:
Quote:
Under development since october 2013, created and developed by 3 young independant developers, "Hover: Revolt of Gamers" is a futuristic 3D parkour game in an openworld.

Halfway between the crazy universe from Jet Set Radio, the interactivity of a Mirror's Edge and inspired by movies like the 5th Element or Star Wars, "Hover: Revolt of Gamers" places itself on another world and puts you in charge of a band of Gamers revolted against opression and the anti-video-games laws that rules the city.

You'll have to free the citizen restrained by the autorities, localise and then infiltrate into control centers of the anti video games propaganda, retrieve gaming consoles confiscated from the population to dethrone the new Mayor, who is the cause of all that mess. Beware, some new security drones are patroling the city and you'll have to be vigilent at the cost of being chased and having to shake them off.

Gamers being recruited by your team will be playable and you'll have the ability to gain experience in order to improve each of their statistics.

Particularly adapted for the Oculus Rift, the game offers an exceptional immersion as well as totally new breathtaking sensations.

Whatever your favorite controler might be (mouse and keyboard or joypad), the game is designed for a quick handling with a minimal amount of buttons without lacking technique.

The base goal completed, the game is planned for PC/Mac/Linux, XboxOne/PS4. A specific version for the Wii U including asymetric gameplay and local multiplayer modes will be developed if the WiiU stretch goal is completed.

FEATURES

  • Crazy sensations of freedom and movement
  • In a 100% explorable openworld inside a vast futuristic extra-terrestrial city
  • Colorful cartoon HD graphics
  • Numerous characters to unlock and play
  • An experience system and a skill grid per character
  • join various clans
  • A dynamical scenarisation without interruptions
  • Non linear adventure and missions
  • The game can be switched to multiplayer at any time
  • Ability to create real time multiplayer events
  • First and third person view
  • Compatible and particularly adapted to the Oculus Rift
  • Gameplay technique through a quick and intuitive handling

As we already explained on the video, we created a basic movement system and a small part of the city. There is much work to do before the game is playable and the game isn't enough optimized to run on most computers at the moment. We also want to enlarge the city, and conceive the first missions in order to offer you a lot of fun and a worthy alpha. That's why we need some months to finish this. Currently we cannot garantee an exact release date, but we expect the alpha will be available between October and December 2014. Concerning the complete game, we are thinking about Spring 2015.

coming to Early Access on April 6

http://store.steampowered.com/app/280180/
Quote:
Why Early Access?
“As some of you may know, we already realeased a private Alpha for our Kickstarter backers at the end of december 2014. We got excellent feedback from them, and they shared a lot their experiences with us to help improve our game. That helped us a lot in the development.

Now, we want to take the necessary time to keep doing a great game, we don't want to hurry and botch our game. Setting an Early Access on Steam is a good way to fund many new aspects of the development and enhancement, keeping close a larger community to listen to their feedback while the development evolve.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We can't give an exact date because we want to do an awesome game above all. However, we expect to have finished it in spring 2016, but can't do any promises.

If the game needs more time we will spend more time on its development. We don't want to realease it half-finished or buggy”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“We'll expand the content and improve the game throughout development, features will also be refined and adjusted based on players feedback.
    We plan to have:
      - Performance improvements,
      - More playable characters,
      - More environments and dungeons (specific mission zones),
      - More missions modes,
      - More backstory,
      - More musics and sounds,
      - A complete and rich mission editor for players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“- We set a tutorial to help you handle the controls (run, jump, grind, wall jump, handle, scan a swith to open a door or acitivate a mission, squat, carry a gameball and throw it on a target, rewind at a previous position)
    - The map is a large and vertically height city,
    - Many missions are already available (races, gameball matchs, postman missions)
    - A mission editor is available for the players that allow them to share their missions on line.
    - You can play as well on line and off line. there is no difference between these two modes except you can meet people in game or not.
    - Online missions are the same as offline ones but can be played with/against other people.
    - There are 4 playable characters with swap color and height change possibility,
    - They can improve their speed, jump, force, and energy with XP points earned with missions.
    - Cameras will send you secuboxes after you when you are carrying a gameball to get it back, or will deploy holographic barriers to obstruct your way.
    - 60 hidden gamegirls all around the city,
    - Sabotage the Great Administrator's propaganda by deactivating the anti-video game holograms you will see in the city.
    - The Gamer Resistance put some holographic items in the city. These items will above all guide the beginners to roam into the city and take some risks, offering some xp points.
    - The scanner will help you to locate missions or players around you. It also indicates the cameras and the anti-video game holographic propaganda.
    - You can also use the scanner to get informations about the story of the city while scanning some elements (poster, environment objects, holograms...)”

Fusty Game, Midgar Studio and The Sidekicks are proud to announce that after a successful Kickstarter in 2014 and a very fertile Early Access period, Hover : Revolt of Gamers is now released on PC, Mac and Linux.
It’s a real achievement for the Fusty Game team, composed of only 3 young developers who received the support of Midgar Studio on the home stretch of the early access.
Hover: Revolt of Gamers offers an unique experience based on a fast-paced gameplay yet without violence, guns or blood. It’s all about “Parkouring” an incredible city, high speed racing, mega jumps, tricks and combos in a wide futuristic open world.
Hover takes you to ECP17, also called Hover City, a high-tech city built on a distant planet where the Great Admin established a strong dictatorship and banned any kind of entertainment.
Players are in charge of a team of young rebels, the Gamers, equipped with high-tech gears allowing amazing jumps and speed. They roam the city to fight against the new anti-leisure laws, sabotage the propaganda, help citizens, and find a way to put an end to the oppression.
Hover’s buildings offer breathtaking vertical playgrounds where you will have to prove your value. Deride the security forces, rise up to many challenges, assemble the best possible, upgrade your gear and experience the adrenaline of speed and height.
Hover : Revolt of Gamers is both a single and multiplayer experience. At any time you can switch from offline to online mode and join your friends or players from around the world. You can progress through the adventure by cooperating or play against them. Hover : Revolt of Gamers is a community-driven game offering many tools to players to create missions or mini games.

Today’s launch comes with an impressive update that doubles the game content compared to Early Access.

Here’s the full game content overview :
  • 9 Playable Characters
  • 1 Tutorial Stage
  • 2 Open World Stages
  • 2 Indoor Non-Linear Stages
  • 2 Indoor Linear Stages
  • The Final Boss
  • 90+ Storyline Missions
  • Many Challenges of very different kinds : Races - Chase - Infiltration - Tricks & Combos - Graffiti - Sabotage - Catch
  • Missions editor
  • Skill chips for customization
  • 7 collectible pets
  • 48 collectible graffiti
  • Gameball matches & races (epic streetball like game)
  • 17 original music tracks (feat. Hideki Naganuma)

The unique experience offered to the players is strengthened by a colorful sci-fi world, full of Easter eggs, and, on the top of it, an amazing electro soundtrack including exclusive tracks from Jet Set Radio composer Hideki Naganuma. By the way the full OST is also now available as a DLC.

Hover : Revolt of Gamers is released today in 7 languages : English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Korean.
