So this morning I sent a CV for a IP network enginner - cisco related stuff.
Got a phone call after a few hours and scheduled an interview for tomorrow.

Now the catch is I lied in the sent mail cuz the job involves knowledge of the French language - medium skill at least. So tomorrow I'll have to explain in French some networking stuff...which I'm perfectly fine in English but I haven't said a word in French since highschool - 6 years ago.

It will be a doozie lol. Confused

Laughing dear God, I'm not sure I can explain technical stuff in English, it's one thing to speak a language casually it's another when you get to technical words that aren't even in the dictionary, you need a technical dictionary for that.

Just learn a few technical sentences and hope he doesn't ask to many questions.

This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) @Laurentiu499 This is your best bet for anyone speaking even a little french can immediately tell you're full of shit. I know the feeling since I studied french in high school and haven't used it after that. If it comes up say you have the basics. Otherwise don't bring it up.

When a job requires knowing the French language, you can already tell it's gonna be a joke anyway Devil Troll

Not really, they're magnificent salauds de riches after all grinhurt. It is true if knowledge of Italian is required though. That would mean 100% guaranteed scam! Very Happy Laughing

a job with italian as a requirement will probably have you move some large amounts of money silently and get rid of some dead hookers. Cool Face

dont worry about the french laurentiu, with that language as a requirement, chances are you wont be able to speak a single word anyway once the cock is in your mouth

Well if he's needs to talk French it will go badly, technical French is way harder than what they taught him at school. So without specific learning in that well... les aventures de Bob et Bobette won't cut it

If it's just knowing French for customer interactions he'll do fine. In Belgium a lot of the jobs I had interviews for had that requirement and I never got tested. Only times I talked French was with a customer (did not happen often) and usually that wasn't their first language anyway: Smile

Tho I hope it just goes fine Smile

So back from the interview.
It went like this Smile Mr. Green Confused Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Focused

had a HR interview in my native tongue...then the French gal came in...mumbled some shit..didnt have the words at me..anyway..epic fail. then the technical stuff in my antive tongue. aced it. she saw I knew my shit then she left.

then, received a few question in french..had to write down the answers. The 1st gal came..saw it.. said it's good. I know how to write at least better than I can talk Laughing

I'll have the answer in 2-3 days.
On one hand, Im optimistic but on the other hand, I had in the apst several interviews where I thought it went well...then the answer came: you are not 100% compatible with the position.

so...ill wait and see. Everything Went Better Than Expected

It reminded me of some 'old' song Smile

60's or 70's I think. And the one to blame is my french teacher from high school
She taught the last 4 hours on friday with french could be a little bit more fun with learning a song. We still hated 4 hours of French on the last day and hours of the week tho xD

And now I have that song 'la tribute de Dana' in my head. stupid french classes! Laughing

*edit* Shakes fist... and never a Jaques Brell song ffs! (haha, funny to find out I'm still annoyed by that )
