  • Benchmark: *TOO EARLY*
  • SDK, mod utils: *TOO EARLY*

Quote:

The article refers to the game as "the next Unreal Tournament", suggesting that the game's full title is as yet undecided. Midway have previously confirmed that no new UT titles will be shipping in 2005, so it's likely that this game will bear the name "Unreal Tournament 2006" or "Unreal Tournament 2007". It's also possible that Epic have ditched the yearly naming convention altogether... only time will tell. Scans from the article currently doing the rounds on IRC show a silver and black Unreal 'U' logo on the magazine's cover, and a rather detailed Necris character standing outside next to some sort of vehicle on the first page of the article itself. Other screenshots reportedly include UE3-powered Malcolm, as well as next-gen versions of the Goliath tank, Scorpion buggy and armor concept art.

Some features:

* The next UT will focus on AI, specifically voice-controlled AI.

Im just worried that because of the choice of the UE3 engine that Alot of people will be left out, because they can't run it. but hopefully we will found out later about that.

UE3 isn't THAT tough to run, epic has been running the demo's we've seen sofar on a gf6800ultra, and there won't probably be any UE3 games out for some 6 months or so.

Epic are known for making optimisations to their engine so that it can run with even low end comps. Although im quite excited at the prospect of another UT i dont possibly know how they could better 2004, Onslaught mode was such a blast to play and in-voice commands were a nice feature.

I would have been more impressed if there were more than two teams.

People want 3 or 4 teams damnit!

That would have been really cool especially on the big maps that are "patched together" from smaller maps.

Yes I read this on Linux-Gamers. Sounds very interesting but not exactly a surprise. The series continues... Props to Epic for coding to MacOSX and Linux.

Nice, only bought Unreal 1 though and I still don't regret that, Unreal is really nice, Unreal Tournament never really appealed to me but this one might be the one for me Very Happy .
