whats the differences between these 2 releases?
God_of_War_USA_PS2DVD5-GeNiuS
God_of_War_USA_PS2DVD5_PROPER-ConFuSiON
i got God_of_War_USA_PS2DVD5-GeNiuS and using swap magic 3.3 and it works fine, anyone know if there is a problem with the one i got?

One work and one do not work, that's the difference.
God_of_War_USA_PS2DVD5-GeNiuS hangs at level4 so grab the PROPER one if you want to be able to finish the game.

The Confusion version has no changes to the SCUS or IOPRP300.IMG files. While the Genius version has what seems to be a uselessly edited string in the SCUS and a couple others in the IOPRP300.IMG. Maybe thats why it doesnt work.
Im almost willing to say that if you edit back those 2 files to original again the Genius version may work.

How about the start2 release from a couple of days ago? Also, that release (start2) is 4.1 gig ISO and the confusion rlz is a 3.7 gig ISO.?????????

I got the info by compairing files from both releases and the retail version that I own. The proper is probably less than size due to either more taken out of the PART2.PAK found in the second layer, or because maybe more dupes were relinked out of it.

after getting the fixed version (God_of_War_USA_PS2DVD5_PROPER-ConFuSiON) and trying to play it from hdd. it wont load up. tried it on all modes. it just load up to the first black screen with white text ("SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT AMERICA PRESENTS....") and stops right there.
anyone know what to do?

Nothing we can do just yet to get it to work on hdd. It has one confirmed string that blocks hdd play but even with that being fixed it doenst play. I assume there is more than one type of anti hdd playing string in this game.

Lv4 is after you have climbed up the huge beast in the desert. It's called pandoras temple.
