Woke up at 3.30 in excruciating pain, barfing from the pain even. Entire right side felt like someone was jabbing a knife constantly. Called an ambulance, funny enough my gf's stepdad was the first responder.

Got some painkillers, pain didn't go away. Got some glorious Morphine after that, which helped right away. Loaded up in the ambulance, and had to endure a 2 hour ride to Karlskrona. All the time barfing in regular intervals and getting another glorious morphine shot

Going through all kinds of tests in the hospital from morning till evening (got home hour ago) doping me up to eventually have me undergo a CT scan tomorow. Most likely suspect: Kidney stone! Yeey!

At least one good thing happened today... I won FFVIII Laughing Eases the pain a bit Very Happy

TLDR: Kidney stones are a bitch, Morphine is glorious, Steamgift eases the pain!

I knew this was a kidney stone with the first sentence I read. Sorry man, it's one of the worst pain you can get through, they say it's worse then tooth aches & pregnancy Sad

Hope it turns out to not be anything serious.

You surely live up to your user name grinhurt

Kidney stones are incredibly painful, my mother had them some months ago. Thankfully they're usually quite easy to remove with today's tech and advanced methods, one day at the hospital w/ micro operation and they're gone. Sucks though Sad. Hope everything goes well!!

This is bullshit. Drinking water has nothing to do with it. You can also drink as usual now (back then, it was recommended to drink a lot, but this was proved wrong because if the stone is making an obstacle, then it can render this even worse).

@ixigia : if it's a small one, he can possibly pee it and thus no need to remove it. Usually, if it's the first time this happens, then you don't have to remove it : I guess the doctors told MORPHINEUS to pee every time on a compress and keep them so he can see if he does indeed pee the stone eventually.

Good luck but you should be okay. I know the pain is terrible, and people can't stay put because of this, they have to move like crazy !...

I had a fucking kidney stone myself just recently. The bad thing is, the pain began when I was on some tradeshow as an exhibitor with some colleaugues from work. And this was like 200 km away from my home. We were just packing in and wanted to leave to the hotel, when I felt this horrible pain on the left side of my stomach all of a sudden. Goddamn it was so bad I almost thought I was having a heart attack or something and now I had to die Laughing

Within seconds my face was full of cold sweat from the pain. I told my colleague that something was wrong and we wanted to get to his car. Unfortunately, we had to take the fucking shuttle bus to the parking lot... it was the longest bus ride of my life, I can tell you. The pain didn't stop so I told my colleague to drive me to the hospital. I was bitching like crazy and shouting the meanest swearwords I know during the car ride because I couldn't take the pain. Unfortunately, my boss was also in the same car, because we were staying at the same hotel Laughing Well, now he knows how I can bitch^^ The doctor at the hospital gave me two injections in my butt to stop the pain, but didn't diagnose anything.

A few weeks later the pain started again and I had myself checked again. They found the kidney stone and put me on the station to drink nonstop to try and pee the fucker out. Of course that didn't work, so they had to remove it... You can imagine how they remove a kidney stone without cutting your stomach open, right Twisted Evil. After surgery, peeing hurt like hell for several days.

But the worst part is, when they remove the plastic cannula two weeks after surgery and you are totally awake. That really hurts like shit, because they put some medical device into your weener to grab the canula and pull it out... So all in all this was one of the most painful experiences of my life Laughing

If you get Alzheimers the 2nd issue probably wont be an issue.

Yes! This is very true Razz. There's also the possibility to ultrasonically zap the stone in case it's bigger. The procedure should be painless and it can break it into tiny pieces that you can easily pee out. Smile

@Damasta: that's a very reassuring story for our Morph, damn man, you saw pure hell Laughing

Yup by my Girlfriend, got rectum pills after the first visit. Naturally I joked: Well you had a go and the deal was that now I can have a go

Well update since I suddenly left...

I started to barf again, pain got back 30 mins after the post. Their Ass Morphine pills didn't work. So after 2 hours of me dying on the floor again I told my gf to call her mom and stepdad if they had some advice (He's an ambulance driver, she's a nurse) and well they were a bit amazed the hospital didn't deal with a CT scan right away and other stuff.

Well their advice was: If it's that bad again, get him to the hospital again. So we were contemplating if we could reach it by car or Ambulance again. But seeing I was so nauseated and well couldn't keep anything down. We opted for the ambulance, a minute after this suddenly the pain vanished. Told her to just wait it out for the CT scan next morning instead. Could deal with the vomiting anyway.

Did a scan the moment I arrived in the hospital this morning, did some more blood tests and other tests. With half the results the doctor could already conclude that everything was better , he just was waiting for the pictures. Half an hour later he came back saying I had a kidney stone, they saw the evidence of it (wreaking havoc in my body! ) but it had passed So Much Win

Went home, still barfed after a wild taxi ride from hospital to station. Still feeling sick. Which is to be expected after 2 days of not keeping fluids in or had any food.
Feeling better after half a day of sleep, but for the next few days I'm going to take it easy and rest as much as possible.

Thanks for the kind words and surprising to see how many could relate to it. I finally joined the club but with all sincerity: I hope no one else will join this group. Wouldn't wish this pain to anyone.

*grouphug* Very Happy

Ps. Oh yeah, I really do love Morphine Laughing Fitting name!

I'm surprised they didn't give you ibuprofen at the E.R. You take it, within a few minutes later, you feel healed.

Not only as a painkiller but this actually helps to heal from kidney stones... Morphine doesn't and is just...... a pain killer.

Had kidney stone twice. Motherfucker hurts like there's no tomorrow. But all you need is a Muscle Relaxant and the pain goes away, In my case it was Voltaren.

Yep, me to. The second time I got kidney stone, I just took a Voltaren and the pain went away instantly. You still have to go to the doctor in order to see if the stone is out or not, but at least there is no pain.
