After doing certain things, it just messes the fuck up. When i go to my computer at times the window appears on my TV which ofc is turned off when not using it, or my left screen which is also turned off. Why THE FUCK do they appear there and not my fucking main screen? Was trying to get kotor working, and in the process of doing so windows sent EVERYTHING over to my tv screen, so i had to drag them back, and this multiple times. This is the kind of needless crap i seriously can do without.

/rant out

Yeah, it tries to remember the position of the windows (so it would launch the window in the same place you closed it before, for example), but sometimes it gets confused when the screen refreshes or you change resolutions Very Happy

You can use WinKey + Shift + Left/Right to quickly throw your active window to a different screen, which should make things slightly less annoying.

It does... I use it all the time. I even tried doing it while typing this message! Very Happy
In W8.1 it even works with the Start Screen (in W8 it had a different combination for the Start Screen, but standard windows still worked with Win+Shift+Left or Right).

One good feature to come with W8? Amg!

That shit is so annoying when it happens, sucks to move every single window around manually and I don't even have my TV on at all times so it's really annoying when shit opens in it instead of my main monitor.

Something is wrong on your end guys, or you are doing it wrong Very Happy

This feature worked in W7 too. I think it was introduced along with W7, but it might also have been Vista. I don't remember quite clearly, but it has been an official keyboard shortcut for a few years now and it should work.

Just looking at this very page I press Win+Shift+Left and off it goes to my left screen...

See here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/keyboard-shortcuts#keyboard-shortcuts=windows-7
Specifically the Windows Logo key shortcuts..
Quote:

Windows logo key [Picture of Windows logo key] +Shift+Left Arrow or Right Arrow
- Move a window from one monitor to another.

Edit: Also, Win8 users should check out the shortcut list as well:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/keyboard-shortcuts

Lots of useful stuff that makes working in W8 much easier... especially good for getting around the silly gesture things.

So annoying to change it around so often, would rather just prefer if Winblows worked like it's supposed to lol.

But those hotkeys should help for sure, will definitely give them a shot when I get back home, no need to turn TV on anymore to get a window from it to main screen.

Hate this shit too, and added on top of that. I have nvidia so stuck with only being able to use 2 screens at a time(even though i can have 3 connected)

Moment I use my tv as first screen instead of my monitor, it messes up the shortcuts on monitor 2(like it resorts them or some shit, they either get sorted on moinotor 2 or all get moved to monitor 1 ) so wierd

Yeah those icon refreshes happen from time to time. Especially if you start switching resolutions, primary/secondary or disabling the screens. Don't like them either.

You would think they could come up with the system that could reliably tell screens apart and remember the arrangements by now. AMD had their own desktop manager app, but it wasn't really any better in reality. Not sure if there are some good 3rd party solutions.

How'd you get it working?

I'm on W7 but WinKey+Shift+Left/Right doesn't do anything for me. Razz

You need to click on a window that is outside the screen you want it on. When you have, press windows + shift and the actual arrows towards the screen you want it. I'm bad at explaining Razz

It's strange that it's not working. There are rare applications that don't support it (like Winamp, for some reason), but apart from that, everything works for me.

When you say left and right, I assume you mean you tried both left and right one after another (as in, not bot at the same time Smile)?
